phelps 6,782 Posted April 7, 2019 #127 Share Posted April 7, 2019 I just can't stop asking myself who's the genius that decided to schedule both Milan and Rome's Marathon on the same exact day?... by the way, this was a problem only for the tv networks, not certainly for the organizers to have a decent lineup, as in both races the course records fell one after the other... in Milan, it was a well expected Kenian festival: Titus Ekiru won the men's event in 2h04m46s ahead of Evans Chebet (2h07m22s) and Edwin Koech (2h08m24s)... meanwhile, the women's race was won by Vivian Kiplagat in 2h22m25s, with no other girl running under the 2h30min mark... both times are also the new All-Comers Records for the Italian territory... in Rome, instead, it was Ethiopia to grab all the honours: the men's race went to Zawude Heyi (2h08m37s, the only competition between Milan and Rome that didn't break the course record), while the women's event was won by Alemu Megertu in 2h22m52s...
