They are the same for both genders: Discus Throw, Triple Jump, 3,000m Steeplechase, and 200m. The men and women will race the 3,000m Steeplechase and 200m at 5 meets next year, but the events will not count towards an overall standing. The men and women will only compete the Discus and Triple Jump once next season. This is all according to Inside the Games. Did a quick check of her Twitter. Athletes and fans are obviously pissed, as everyone told the IAAF they would be. “Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. It only feels appropriate to tag @dcro here In all seriousness, this decision sucks big time, and social media is going crazy against it. So, yes the IAAF used fan input to decide, which events are popular (fine), but they didn’t ask the fan base if this was something they wanted. Their assumptions were obviously wrong in this case. “Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. heywoodu 13,502 Posted November 7, 2019 #535 Share Posted November 7, 2019 It's like taking the Totallympics poll where everyone chooses their five favourite sports, and then go and say "Ok so all the rest can be removed." Wtf no, that's not what we said. Olympian1010 7,418 Posted November 13, 2019 #537 Share Posted November 13, 2019 Sandi Morris absolutely murdered someone on Twitter today. Damn, girl “Sport has the power to change the world. heywoodu 13,502 Posted November 13, 2019 #538 Share Posted November 13, 2019 Since that tweets seems to be a little bit like a completely random attack on someone by Morris, some context for those who didn't click on it: Morris posted some photos of her wedding. As one might see, Morris is a white lady, her husband however is a black guy and obviously that is disgusting, according to mister Cofflin. Monzanator 3,569 Posted November 13, 2019 #539 Share Posted November 13, 2019 Americans and their racial problems, sigh. But what do you expect from a nation who handed Medals of Honor for the Wounded Knee massacre?
heywoodu 13,502 Posted November 17, 2019 #540 Share Posted November 17, 2019 Letesenbet Gidey of Ethiopia totally destroyed the 15k world record at the Zevenheuvelenloop ('Seven Hills Run') in Nijmegen today: 44.20 minutes, destroying the old record by one minute and 17 seconds. The last 10k, which is slightly more downhill, went faster than Ayana's 10k track world record.
