We have sprints in cc already. 400m is bullshit. Commercials would last longer than the "race" itself. But maybe that's the whole point. Sport is just a sideshow for business anyway. One can argue the commercials & the half-time show during the Super Bowl are more important than the Super Bowl itself

Lol @ Jacob Ingebrigtsen diving at the end of the 5000 m race to save his 5th place ...

Qatar got a lot of criticism because the attendance is/was so bad, but i think it is actually a positive thing, because it shows that Qatar isn't a dictatorship and can't force people to attend the competition.

It was also great to see how happy the thousands of ethiopians were when their compatriot won the gold medal. It really paid off for them to get vacation just for this and to fly all the way to Qatar, i wish that people from other nations would be equally enthusiastic.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

Well, sports have been brought to the whole new level in the US during last 2 decades. You cannot draw a clear line between business and sport that easily.

and here some "colour" news...

it looks that the German sprinters are quite shy, after all...

I do not think that's very funny tbh. The athletes do not have a change to avoid being filmed this way. And moreover, at least Pinto was not aware that there was a block camera and this is just inacceptable. However, in my opionion this is not a question of gender. I myself would feel uncomfortable being filmed this way and not knowing being filmed this way is even worse. Maybe some people/athletes don't care at all, but IAAF may not claim that this as a premise for all athletes.
