67 is quite good number for us, remember that before 1989 our players couldn´t legally play abroad. only a couple of them succeeded to defect and became NHL stars like the Šťastný brothers. the biggest amount of our NHLers happened during the golden era in early 2000´s. Now the number is considerably lower and much more realistic for us than for example the 40 players Slovakia had there in 2004 or 2005

Oh yeah, forgot that Czechoslovakia existed before Slovakia & Czech Republic.

Stan Mikita is for some reason not included in this list

but moved to St. Catharines, Ontario, as a young boy.

And stayed there all his life and became a Canadian citizen I suppose, there's the quite clear reason :p

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

Patrik Laine scored 5 goals last night in the Winnipeg 8-4 wins over St. Louis. It´s now 7 years since any player achieved such NHL milestone, last time it was Johan Franzen in 2011 and before him no one else than our sniper Marián Gáborík back in 2007.

Laine became also only the 3rd under 21 years old player ever to score 5 goals in a NHL match after the legendary Wayne Gretzy (did it twice) and Don Murdoch

Slovak blueliner of the Ottawa Senators Christián Jaroš experienced last night his first careers NHL fight :d was not really the brightest idea to challenge Ross Johnston though :p but yeah, it was the second of the 3 fights within 30 secons in yesterdays match between NY Islanders and Ottawa

a completely better night experienced Tomáš Tatár who scored 2 goals for the Canadiens against Florida, finally a small relief this year for him after very bad last season in Vegas

Ovechkin sets NHL points record for Russians players during the game Washington Capitals vs. Vancouver Canucks (3-2).

Ovechkin, who assisted on T.J. Oshie's first-period goal, has 1,180 points (644 goals, 536 assists) in 14 NHL seasons, one more than Sergei Fedorov (483 goals, 696 assists) had in 18 seasons.

the trade deadline came...and most teams made all what they could to improve their immediate and/or their future perspective (depending on their current ranking and ambition in this season)...

among the moves that hit the headlines: Mark Stone traded from Ottawa to the Vegas Golden Knights; Nashville sacrifying some young talent like Kevin Fiala to add consistency and experience with Mikael Granlund and Wayne Simmonds; San Josè adding scoring depth with Gustav Nyquist, acquired from Detroit; Winnipeg re-shuffling their lines with the newcomers Kevin Hayes (from the NY Rangers), Matt Hendricks (from Minnesota), Bogdan Kiselevich (from Florida), Alexander Broadhurst (from Columbus) and Nathan Beaulieu (from Buffalo); Colorado acquiring Derek Brassard from Florida; Calgary fixing their defence with Oscar Fantenberg from the L.A. Kings (that earlier in the season sent also Jake Muzzin to Toronto and made many other moves intended to find some space in their salary cap for the upcoming offseason)...

here are all the moves made in these days from the 31 NHL teams:
