orangeman 1,315 Posted February 22, 2018 #822 Share Posted February 22, 2018 I thought by going to women's hockey and men's curling I'd have a decent shot at seeing Canada win something. Nope. Worse, I was with an American!
james89 438 Posted February 22, 2018 #823 Share Posted February 22, 2018 Yikes! Not the best day overall, but the two short track medals (although the bronze in the relay is disappointing since they made the one error) and the ski cross qualification. I'm also pretty stoked about Valerie Grenier's 6th place finish in the combined. Very positive result for a 21 year old when our alpine program needs a bit of a boost. JoshMartini007 2,203 Posted February 22, 2018 #824 Share Posted February 22, 2018 With the Olympics ending who is your choice for flag bearer at the closing ceremonies? No one really stands out in terms of publicity created outside of Virtue and Moir, but there's no chance for them to be the flag bearers again. I personally feel it should go to Alex Gough for winning Canada's first luge medal. Kim Boutin is also a worthy choice for winning three individual medals in short track. Mark McMorris may end up in the conversation (due to his comeback from injury) if he wins a medal in big air and of course there's Mikael Kingsbury. Ted-Jan Bloemen should also get some consideration for winning two individual medals too.
juddy96 171 Posted February 22, 2018 Author #825 Share Posted February 22, 2018 McMorris and Boutin are great examples of overcoming adversity, and would be my top choices. Gough would be a cool choice too. Canada4thewin

orangeman 1,315 Posted February 23, 2018 #827 Share Posted February 23, 2018 Very good day for Canada so far. Hopefully it follows through this evening with curling, speed skating and hockey. Canada4thewin and NearPup

intoronto 4,202 Posted February 23, 2018 #829 Share Posted February 23, 2018 Even with the most medals ever, these games hav to be considered a failure. 4 for 4 in Sochi in team events and 0 for 4 here. Canada4thewin
