Dunadan 1,103 Posted July 24, 2018 #116 Share Posted July 24, 2018 Does anyone know why Kruse stopped participating in team events in the last two years? Is it a reaction to the funding cuts to British fencing?

Quasit 849 Posted July 24, 2018 #118 Share Posted July 24, 2018 (edited) Yeah, so much for the Italian disaster. Always finding a way to win it anyway. OlympicsFan 782 Posted July 24, 2018 #119 Share Posted July 24, 2018 Incredible results for Italy once again, fencing is for them what canoeing (or luge if we talk about winter sports) is for Germany. With very smart funding they continue to keep their dominance alive. I hope that Japan will get (much) better in the next 2 years. Who knows, maybe France will soon start to invest a lot for 2024 olympics, trying to challenge the italian dominance. Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

British Fencing didn't approve his choice to train with the London-based Pole Wojciewski and not within the federal circles and he reacted by leaving the team events (moreover, his relationship with J.A. Davis are not that good -I've read an interview where it was said that the Errigo vs Di Francisca dispute is nothing compared to theirs, another fact which helped him to take this decision)...
