mrv86 2,923 Posted December 27, 2019 #2202 Share Posted December 27, 2019 It seems Njisane Phillip tested positive, so that substracts a gold and a silver for Trinidad and Tobago, not to mention this will really hurt their chances to qualify for Tokyo in team sprint. Also, Mexico got silver and Peru a bronze medal in men's team sprint, after both Trinidad and Tobago & Brazil got disqualied

It’s a shame Phillip resorted to doping. He was one of my favorite athletes around 2012. Nowadays Paul is my favorite track cyclist. “Sport has the power to change the world. Well, Paul is most surely in Tokyo as Trinidad and Tobago in sprint is the first NOC not qualified for the team event, and they hold can't longer be pushed behind 7th place. They will likely get another spot in keirin, as they're currently in fifth position on the list.

Yes, that's why Peru gets a bronze, so every eligible team of that event was awarded a medal Either way, I don't know if Peru is happy with the 2 new bronze medals, after all the 9th place at the medal table was celebrated as an achievement, and now they're 10th. heywoodu and thiago_simoes 1
