hckošice 13,246 Posted May 19, 2019 Author #576 Share Posted May 19, 2019 Back from the arena, with mixed feelings, happy and full of another great memories I´ll have all my life but also sad since today we lost our quarterfinals spot. Like the whole country we were today cheering for Germany lol, the whole arena was chanting Deutschland ! Deutschland the whole game lol, from IIHF.COM official recap of the match: Quote Four days after the Germans had put their team’s quarter-final hopes in serious jeopardy, the Slovak fans were hoping that that same team could rescue them. In attendance at Steel Arena, the usual solid contingent of German fans and their chants of “Deutschland! Deutschland” was supported by Slovaks, who altered their familiar chant to: “Nemecko! Nemecko! Heja heja heja Nemecko!” However, for the second time in this tournament, the Germans would disappoint the Slovaks. but well, anyway we are eliminated but despite the hard feelings right now to lost everything in the last second of the match vs Canada and in the last 2 minutes in the match against Germany (1 really, only 1 single point from one of these games would have qualify us...) we can look with hopes for the future, because this team and the performances that showed this young team is a huge sign of hope for the return of Slovak hockey to it´s past glories in the next years.
