Both teams played together also in 2011 when Slovakia hosted the world champiosnhips for the first time and it was in the very last game of the tournament in that epic gold medal match and team around Mikael Granlund won that match in impressive way 6-1 to claim their 2nd ever world title. In Bratislava the 2nd team of Group B will face the 3rd team of Group A. The almost home country Czech Republic will face a very dangerous squad of Germany led by their super star Leon Draisaitl who basically qualified his team to the quarterfinals by scoring that for Slovakia hearthbreaking winning goal in the last minute and the 2 winning goals in the last period over Finland causing Suomi will have to play against Sweden in the QF. The matches will start soon.
