  1. Uruguay was the favourite but I didn't know Ecuador was so weak right now.
  2. Argentina was playing better than Colombia until the first goal, though. Based on what we saw from Paraguay vs Qatar, it's unlikely Argentina will lose points to either one of them.

  6. I don't think this championship means that much, there's literally no excitement for it. Even if Brazil wins it, it won't entirely restore the faith in the team (for general perception, though, maybe would be good since we haven't won anything in quite some time).
  7. People are so excited that this didn't even had a thread yet? In all seriousness, people really are not talking about this. In their last friendly before competition, Brazil won 7-0 against Honduras in a half-empty stadium (and I'm being generous, 'cause I think there was like 15k spectators), something that would never happen a few years ago. The recent failures of the team and the whole Neymar scandal might have something to do with this.
  8. Men's Football CONMEBOL Copa América 2019 Various Cities (BRA) - 14 June 2019 - 7 July 2019 Official Website
  9. Compared to 2015, Brazil's level have decreased, so much I don't know if they can even win a bronze medal this time at Pan Am Games.
  10. Actually in the end the male open water swimmers selected won't compete in the pool. So we have 34 in the pool events (18 men + 16 women) and 4 in Open Water (2 each gender), but Viviane Jungblut will also compete in the pool so that equals 37 athletes (the list is in this post). Brazil could have opted to send 2 more female athletes but the level isn't great.
  11. I'm surprised by Italy's win as well, not that they are a bad team, but because I thought Australia had the potential to reach semifinals (and maybe still has). I'm fearful for Brazil at the next match.

  14. Counting Open Water, Brazil will have 37 total.
  15. Cristiane now reaches the top 10 of goalscorers in Women's World Cup.
  16. The audience for this match on Globo (biggest open channel in brazilian TV, which is showing Women's WC for the first time ever) is 34 points so far - almost three times better than the usual for Sunday morning. Second channel in audience with 5 points is also broadcasting the match.
  17. That would be easily reachable in the old days. Today we're lucky if Brazil goes beyond the first round.
  18. Not likely, Brazil lost their last 9 matches lol I think we'll finish 3rd, maybe 2nd with some luck.
  19. Australia vs Italy match great so far, but I'm already thinking how much Brazil is gonna suffer in this group
  20. I believe she missed at least 6 big competitions now because of injuries (Youth Olympics 2014, Pan American Games 2015, Worlds 2015, Worlds 2017, Pan American Games 2019, Worlds 2019). If she was from one of the big nations, she would have given up a long time ago. Honestly, it will be amazing if she wins a medal at the Olympics without having won anything important ever. But I can't expect anything from our women's gymnastics team anymore. They're always good in useless competitions and then a disaster when it really matters (not only because of injuries, but also nervousness).
  21. This Neymar injury is sooo convenient, especially when he is amidst a scandal and probably wouldn't play Copa America anyway.
  22. As expected, Brazil is going with a B/C team in Men's Volleyball. I think only 2 players have ever been a part of the main team (Lucas Loh and Kadu). There's still hope Brazil maybe send a better team for the Women's tournament since the competition will happen after the Olympic qualifiers.
