  1. Canoeing Slalom. Alexander Slafkovský never won an Olympic medal, because he never did qualify to the games losing 4 times to Michal Martikán and twice to Matej Beňuš in the internal qualification since 2008 to 2024 Olympics only because this idiotic rule of 1 boat per nation..

Slafkovský is a multiple world champion, European Champion, World Cup winner etc etc etc... but never was and will never be an Olympian

Thanks @hckošice, weren't the 2020 ones played without fans though?

As everything during the Covid-era, however I do remember a very limited amount of fans in Belfast for the final against us though (Impossible to find a video of the match due youtube/UEFA restrictions...but there this video with rections of couple of local fans whom attended the gme)

so they are my team now, not Czechs.

sincere condolences   That´s however a very brave decision which will imply a lot of sufferance, sorrowfull frustrations and neverending disappointements, but hey once in a loooong period time when there is a sporting success somewhere, the feeling of joy and pride is incalculable I promise you :d

But imagine my surprise when I looked at the roster and… no Lopusanova?

Yeah, not many official info being published into the public, but, I guess her club did not want to release her as her Bishop Kearney is going to play the American Hockey Chamipionship in a couple of days...

I'm curious to see statistics on how many home teams advanced since they implemented this new system.

For EURO it is rather negative sum.

Only 2 out of 7 :d (well, 3 if you count neutral venue for :UKR as home...)

    Home Final qualified

EURO 2020 :HUN & EURO 2024 :UKR (home but neutral venue lol)* & :GEO

    Away Final qualified

EURO 2020 :SVK :SCO & :MKD & EURO 2024 :POL

However for World Cup this system was implemented only once for 2022 and funnily enough only home teams won the play-off final

    :WAL :POL & :POR

  5. People will probably laugh, but If I can bet on someone to be the real surprise of this euro I will definitely put my leaky penny on Austria.

    Mark my words. 28th March 2024 :p

I saw them and what they did against us last week, yeah, I know, it was only Slovakia, but still it was one dominant effort I do not remember for a long time, seriously I did not see such play even from :POR in both our qualifying games, They were just superb and ate us alive in every sample of game, only a miracle helped us to finish 0-2.

And last night they even demolished :TUR 6-1 (and still played without injured duo Alaba, Arnautovic)

They have a bunch of very very good players and they play like a hell of a team. One solid group led by a great calm and competent coach. I was and am seriously impressed by what they offered on the pitch.

and by that I repeat, I wouldn´t be surprised at all if Austria shocks the world this summer and maybe goes all the way to even who knows...medal fights

  9. Marek Rodák and the moment of his life  :p

@hckošice I'm furious! and heavily depressed, too

why those idiots of CT decided to close CT Sport down for all the Slovak providers?  :hairpull: :drama:

and now, how can I watch the Czech Extraliga (and many more events I used to watch on that channel)???

    Yeah, total disaster...

Joj TV group (having Joj šport) and Markíza Tv group the main commercial TV networks companies in the country are leading a war against czech TV channels whom Slovak viewers watch more than slovak channels (it started mainly because of expensive movies and TV shows which people intended to watch on czech TVs - including me, I do not remember last time I watched a movie or Tv serie on slovak chennel lol, arguing they do not have the rights to show it in Slovakia while Slovak channels have to pay for the rights and none watch them but rather watch them on czech Tv channels...:p)

This led to close some czech TV channels in Slovakia... but,

then came Joj group which get the TV rights for the Ice Hockey Worlds and you know the issue they are furious people will instead watch the hockey worlds on Czech Sport Tv than on Joj šport which argue by paying a lot of money for these rights in Slovakia, while ČT Sport does not have the rights to broadcast in this country at all and blah blah blah... so they managed to convince sadly the Czech public TV to cut their sport channel for Slovakia...

Yep, dumb and sad. People are generally extremely angry and pissed, many now are deliberately boycotting Joj and Markíza channels, but we can  not do anything, sadly Czech Sport TV is gone
