  1. Tsige Duguma wins the women's 800m and goes under the Olympic standard Nakaayi also finishes under the standard, but I believe she already had already done that before.
  2. My favorties before the live shows are... I think some of those songs could be difficult to perform/stage, so my rankings could definetly change during the contest. Plus, there are a few songs I might like more if they are staged/performed well.
  3. A few NRs in athletics, but no one too close to any of the Olympic standards. I'd be a bit surprised if anyone gets a standard, since it's so early in the season.
  4. CANOC is also pushing for the inclusion of cricket in the 2026 CAC Games.
  5. will host the 2025 Central American and Caribbean Beach Games (not sure if this was posted before).
  6. He'e guy who had to compete for after qualifying for the Pan American Games.
  7. For those interested, this outlet generally keeps tabs on LGBTQ+ athletes at the Olympics: https://www.outsports.com/2021/7/12/22565574/tokyo-summer-olympics-lgbtq-gay-athletes-list/
  8. Yeah, following the results using the results system has been a nightmare The federation websites have been a bit better in my opinion.
  9. I'm sure it won't happen, but it would be nice if this result could convince organizers to let have a go at the top division of the Asian Winter Games next year.
  10. I was hoping could get a quota on the women's side
  11. Plus, it does seem like they host regular events at a few of the venues.
  12. I just hope they keep streaming, since they didn’t really broadcast much internationally over the weekend.
  13. PanamSports may have wanted Paraguay to keep their focus on the 2025 Junior Pan American Games as well. I can definitely see that being a cosideration at least.
  14. They have an athlete who may be able to get a quota in the women's 400m hurdles. In that case, I'd assume they'd use the invitation to send a male athlete.
  15. Lima isn't without risks given the politcal instability of the last few years, but if they have done some upkeep on the venues, you'd hope infrastructure costs will be low. Also, assuming most of the venues are still viable, it will be interesting to see what they do with the sports program.
  16. also won their first gold medal at the winter deaflympics in men's team classic chess event
  17. won the Asian derby for the gold medal in men's futsal. I believe this is their first gold medal (or possibly a medal of any color) at the Winter Deaflympics.
  18. Some interesting extracurricular drama in the v. women's futsal match. There was seemingly an incident between supporters in stands, but it's hard to figure out what happened since the broadcast has no commentary or raw audio. The Brazilian supporters seemed to complain about someone making a racist gesture or something similar based the their fury (and the gesture they kept doing). Anyway, that stopped the match dead for a minutes while it was sorted out. eventually won a very contested match, even after lsoing a player to a red card (second yellow given after a very poor sideline challenge) with just under nine minutes to go in the second half. They even increased their lead while playing down a player. I only watched the broadcast towards the end, but I might have to check out the rest of the match at some point.
  19. It definitely wasn't my favorite, but there wasn't really a standout in the category either, in my opinion. The Zone of Interest would probably be my personal pick.
  20. I did complie a list of films I watched in 2023. You can find my thoughts and ratings for most of them here: https://boxd.it/ti5Xg$WfClDvILULgq0r9T
