  1. But the 22 October version of the ranking will still be there...that's why they released it today instead of Monday. Anyway it's this ranking that counts, no need to wait to see if the Olympic ranking will appear again.
  2. They removed it because it doesn't make sense anymore...it was only an additional ranking that didn't include results before 22 October 2018. If you read the qualification document they never say "Olympic ranking" but "world ranking by nations as of 22 October 2019".
  3. The Olympic ranking is the world ranking by nations as of 22 october and it's already out: https://www.uci.org/road/rankings
  4. Sum of top 100 individuals as of now (in thousands of points): Russia 12 382 China 11 736 Chinese Taipei 10 562 Mongolia 10 436 Romania 9 779 France 8 218
  5. Eh...missing the only chance to qualify directly doesn't make someone less legitimate as a contender, otherwise we should say the same about athletes like Eleftherios Petrounias or Aurelie Muller
  6. I think there was a kid who preferred to be disqualified from the World Championships final last year rather than wearing a not cool helmet...if they try to introduce a standard uniform be ready for the #FreedomForSkaters movement.
  7. Russia (and in part Korea) have been killing the competition for a while by the looks of it, not only last year : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UIAA_Ice_Climbing_World_Cup
  8. 5 euros would have been enough: https://www.fiverr.com/kymber_lytitch/design-high-quality-hairdresser-logo-with-satisfaction-guaranteed
  9. It looked good until I realised that it was the outline of a woman's face. Now it reminds me of some makeup/cosmetic company logo.
  10. I don't care if it worked, 4 out of 8 teams are going to qualify for the Olympics (and the other teams coming from the OQTs also depending on ranking) through a ranking which is flawed, open to manipulation (like Mongolian schoolgirls playing each other) or plain cheating (who knows how many fake or irregular tournaments are included) and also not public anymore while they try to check and fix it. This is not funny anymore, it's a disgusting system, IOC should step in and force FIBA to organize a qualification tournament, or use next year's World Cup as a qualification tournament.
  11. This is ridiculous...the rankings, other than being idiotic, were also probably wrongly calculated and FIBA decided to hide them, claiming that the reason was to create interest for their event on 1 November.
  12. I copied the data about the top 100 players in a spreadsheet and got these sums: Mongolia 9946,570 Taiwan 9666,525 France (they had more than 9 million a few days ago!) 8153,851 Romania 9567,820 I hope federations who miss out take FIBA to court. fiba.xlsx
  13. Long and not satisfying answer...I wonder if they really realized that they fucked up or if they are hiding something.
  14. On November 1, FIBA will organize a livestreamed show in Utsunomiya, Japan to reveal the teams who have qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, directly or indirectly via the FIBA 3x3 Olympic Qualifying Tournaments. To avoid spoilers and make it a special event, the FIBA 3x3 Federation Ranking is invisible up to that date. The different national federations still have access to their individual data on the backend and worldwide activity and individual ranking points are still visible on https://play.fiba3x3.basketball!
  15. I am sure that I read on World Taekwondo website that the sixth ranked athlete in the Olympic ranking would qualify. Can't find the page now. Edit: it's here @MHSN http://www.worldtaekwondo.org/world-taekwondo-grand-slam-series-offers-road-to-olympic-games-2/
  16. Mongolia is now 3rd in the ranking, but is not giving up. China is not safe anymore if those two continue at this rate...
  17. How? One of those four would need 10 points in the UCI road world ranking as of 22 October to be entered in the road race and none of them has any points as of this week.
  18. For volleyball only the World Championships should count in these medal table, neither the Nations (former World) League nor the World Cup (especially this year) are remotely comparable to the WCh. Obviously some sports do not have World Championships every year, so a "2019 medal count" is different than a "latest WCh medal count"
  19. And Canada lost, so the World Ranking will be: 1 Brazil 2 USA 3 Poland 4 Italy 5 Russia 6 Argentina 7 Canada 8 Iran 9 France 10 Japan 11 Serbia 12 Egypt 13 Belgium and the rest unchanged from the previous ranking: http://www.fivb.org/en/volleyball/VB_Ranking_M_2018-10.asp which would lead to these groups if the serpentine system is used: A) Japan, Poland, Italy B) Brazil, USA, Russia, Argentina with Canada and Iran sure to be in A) if they qualify.
  20. Very likely like this, but it's not official yet. Only if they are really sure to be stronger...otherwise they can end up like France in Rio.
  21. Yes, that's right...and they would send Argentina to group B at the Olympics. (and hopefully Iran won't beat Poland 3-2, otherwise Italy could join that group as well)
  22. She moved to at age 6 with her family.
  23. qualified. They join the already qualified Draw will be held on 22nd October.
  24. 1. The final score of the three counting exercises will be added and the gymnast with the highest total score prevails 2. The total E-score of the three counting exercises (6 scores for Vault) will be added and the gymnast with the highest total E-score prevails 3. If they remain tied, the total D-score of the three counting exercises (6 scores for Vault) will be added and the gymnast with the highest total D-score prevails source: this document ART Olympic Qualification Tie-breaking Rules_E._FINALpdf.pdf
  25. Yesterday was indeed an awesome day for the Mongolian league with 4 tournaments and 400,000 points gained. Today they played only 3 tournaments, rumor has it that players asked for a lunch break. Hopefully this selfish act won't hurt their chances to qualify.
