That's true, but the only case where  would miss out the Top5 is if  takes the gold medal and  silver. In this case,  would overtake  and make it to the Top4, granting  the European spot.

I think there is another very unlikely scenario in which  takes the gold medal,  silver and  and  loss their first match. If this happens,  drops out of top4 and takes the Asian spot,  does not make it to Top16 and can't take the Pan-Am spot and we would have a repechage spot between . But as I said, very difficult to happen.

Yes, you can still pass Italy, but it's difficult. You need gold and  6th place or worse

I just did the maths and I think Gkountoura already secured the Greek spot, even if she loses in the round of 64 and Gkountoura takes the gold medal. Currently Georgiadou has 148 points instead of 154 and Gkountoura 174.

Not in my case, but my family does not do Santa either, just "Reyes Magos", which is basically the same thing but in January 6th. I do have some friends in Catalonia that celebrate the Tió though.

And in the Basque Country they also have their own version of Santa. It is called the Olentzero if you want to check it out.

According to our medía,  will host 60% of the games including the final in Madrid.

It seems that inmigration from Cuba and Venezuela is paying off for the Spanish team. I just checked and most of the players were born there or were born/raised in Spain but have family in these countries.
