  1. there was a lot of hype for the men's 100m Free, but tbh, I'm a lot more impressed with Freya Colbert and Max Litchfield's IM races results if that's the standard, I think and can take care of the British 4*100m Free Relay, that was so impressive last year (they basically threw the world champs gold away with that senseless exchange in the prelims)
  2. British Swimming Championships Day #3 men's 1500m Freestyle 1.Daniel Jervis, 14.47.94 (British OQT) 2.Tobias Robinson, 14.54.75 (missed out on the British OQT by 0.46 secs) women's 400m IM 1.Freya Colbert, 4.34.01 (British OQT) 2.Katie Shanahan, 4.36.67 (British OQT) women's 50m Freestyle 1.Anna Hopkin, 24.53 (British OQT) 2.Eva Okaro, 24.96 men's 400m IM 1.Max Litchfield, 4.09.14 (new National Record, British OQT) 2.Charlie Hutchison, 4.15.72 men's 100m Freestyle 1.Matthew Richards, 47.84 (British OQT) 2.Duncan Scott, 47.92 (British OQT) 3.Thomas Dean, 47.94 4.Alexander Cohoon, 48.20 5.Jacob Whittle, 48.39 6.David Cumberlidge, 48.41 7.Alexandr Painter. 48.44 8.Jack McMillan, 48.81
  3. that's really unexpected! I thought fencing (and especially epee, which is the least "athletic" discipline) was one of those sports where people don't need to cheat like that I'm very surprised and sad because of this news
  4. men's -67kg Gold: Ri Won Ju* (total: 333kg) Silver: Sergio Massidda (total: 317kg) Bronze: Ishimbek Muratbek Uulu (total: 294kg) C&J World record @ 189kg Full Results https://iwf.sport/results/results-by-events/?event_id=599
  5. no, the qualification is nominative, not by NOC
  6. as I wrote before, the capital mistake is not having a plan B (C, D etc.) first, they should have had some kind of internal competition when possible (and the -73kg is the perfect case, with Reyes that should have been moved down to push himself and Zanni) and then try to qualify more weights (again, Ficco in the 102kg is the first that comes to my mind) same for the girls, especially knowing how mentally fragile they are...gotta put them under pressure and see who deserves to go on the international stage
  7. Zanni is the first out of the qualifying positions, as have 2 in the top 2 (and only 1 man per class can go to the Games) he will surely get a reallocation (as will not select this class), but frankly he doesn't deserve that luck just forgot , make as if I didn't post the previous part... for instance, I don't know why they didn't try to make Reyes go down to 73kg or let Ficco go up to 102...it would have been a much more logical choice than the sh*t they did through those 2 years however, I still asking myself why there was no plan B? (and C, D, E, F and so on)
  8. men's -73kg, Olympic Quota Places next in line: couple of big upsets Today... first, Rizki Juniansyah overtook his teammate Rahmat Abdullah in the competition, in the OQR and stole from him the Total WR, which means that he will go to Paris instead of the big favorite for the Gold Medal until a few minutes ago second, the great Shi Zhiyong missed out on Today's Gold and most likely also on the chance to get his 3rd consecutive Olympic Title then, quite a few moves have been registered in the OQR among those who were in any case already qualified finally, MirKo Zanni, bronze medallist in Tokyo, dropped out of the qualifying position thanks to the big improvement by Julio Ruben Mayora Perna
  9. men's -73kg Gold: Rizki Juniansyah (total: 365kg WR) Silver: Shi Zhiyong (total: 356kg) Bronze: Rahmat Erwin Abdullah (total: 355kg) Full Results https://iwf.sport/results/results-by-events/?event_id=599
  10. awful job by the team and the federation first, they basically didn't set any internal competition to these guys, despite having a lot of lifters that could have done it (and in case, being a useful replacement to the veterans) then, they thought the early effort was enough and didn't push too much for an improvement imho, those guys who are now just out (but maybe they still have a chance after the reallocations here and there) really don't deserve to go to Paris I'm really annoyed by what the federation has done in the last couple of years
  11. if the IOC recognized cheerleading as a sport (and we already have breakdance and many more things of that kind at the Games), why not pole dancing?
  12. men's -73kg, Halftime standings man, this is getting hot and exciting
  13. that was a wasted chance... IIHF at that time was available to change the rules and allow to play with a full NHL team, but our federation did reject the option and still played with a weak and old team, the last stint of the last semi-decent generation of Italo-North American players after that, the big black hole just swallowed us now, as I wrote, and Hockey just can't stay in the same sentence
  14. it's live on the Olympic Channel (if it doesn't show up, it means that you're in a Country where weightliftinghouse.com has the streaming rights, but it's a pay site, so, you need a vpn -I normally use the Indian vpn and it works well with the Olympic Channel)
  15. Hungarian Swimming Champs will be aired here every day @ 5 p.m. CET (most likely they will be free, no need for a vpn -but still, be prepared to use one) https://mediaklikk.hu/duna-world-elo/
  16. nobody can help in ice hockey...not even "that One" leaving high in the Sky and Hockey just can't stay in the same sentence
  17. yeah, and Burdisso clocked 50.8 at the Olympics and when we won the world gold in Budapest...but I wouldn't say they're capable of repeating themselves constantly on that level...it's easier to see them being the black hole of their respective teams I'm never gonna trust them (especially the Italian fly specialist, whoever he's gonna be in Paris), it's always gonna be a coin toss
  18. British Swimming Championships Day #2 women's 1500m Freestyle 1.Amelie Blocksidge, 16.13.39 2.Fleur Lewis, 16.17.36 men's 200m Fly 1.Joshua Gammon, 1.56.94 2.Thomas Beeley, 1.59.65 women's 200m Breaststroke 1.Kara Hanlon, 2.24.59 2.Elizabeth Booker, 2.25.75 men's 100m Backstroke 1.Oliver Morgan, 52.70 (British Record, OQT) 2.Jonathon Marshall, 53.03 women's 100m Backstroke 1.Kathleen Dawson, 59.74 (OQT) 2.Lauren Cox, 1.00.13
  19. given what and can offer in the fly's leg, I think they have the silver medal pretty safe even with an average stint...and if they can find a good leg, they might even think about putting the under extreme pressure
  20. SHL Playoffs Semifinals Pairings (Best-of-7 Series) Växjö Lakers HC (2) vs Rögle BK (9) Skellefteå AIK (3) vs Frölunda HC (4)
  21. this result + Peaty's return to his best shape put the men's 4*100m Medley Relay on a different perspective
