  1. just wondering if and where the traditional satellite tv feeds will be placed this time (and which kind of encryption they will use...I hope they're not going with biss 2)... it might be the best option overall to watch the Games with traditional tv technology instead of the sometimes unreliable online streaming...
  2. well, it was the same with FIVB and the world qualification tournaments in Volleyball... there was a true auction for the Countries that wanted to host them... money rules the sport nowadays...and everything is good to make a lot of money, even selling the hosting rights of a tournament (by the way, in 2016 Italy paid FIBA about 5 million US$ to host the tournament won by Croatia against us in the final match...this year it looks it's been cheaper to buy those rights)...
  3. -55kg: -61kg: +61kg: side polls: 1) yes, absolutely yes (but Kumite only, all weight classes) 2)
  4. don't overestimate Italy... we're the perfect team to make Marjanovic look Wilt Chamberlain... we only rely on 3-pt shooting...and given the pressure of the event itself (not to mention the fact that we go mad when we face teams from the former Jugoslavija), there's no chance we can keep a high percentage... really, I don't see how we could give any sort of trouble to your team...especially with this roster...

  6. according to our NOC, Musetti is eligible for the Olympic tournament...
  7. Mixed Team Trap Gold: Italy #1 (Jessica Rossi & Mauro De Filippis) Silver: Russia #1 (Daria Semianova & Alexey Alipov) Bronze: Germany #2 (Bettina Valdorf & Paul Pigorsch)
  8. I think USATF is not legally forced to choose the top 3 in each event, but it might be that if they don't do it, they open some kind of Pandora's Vase and a lot of lawsuits could be filed... the 2 with the highest interest in this case are Jenna Prandini (who was 4th and could get a place among the 3 starters in the 100m individual race) and above all, Aleia Hobbs, who finished 7th and could be selected at least as a reserve for the relay instead of being out at 100%... will be an interesting next 4 weeks or so...
  9. get a working european vpn and go for the eurosport player app...all the feeds you need in HD and even some footage in 4K (they promised it, but it's still to be seen if they will actually do it)... or the french tv streams...but those will be only with environmental sound, no commentary...
  10. this is a bomb... Sha'Carri Richardson tested positive for Marijuana...and she admitted it with no excuse on her social media... https://www.reuters.com/lifestyle/sports/us-sprinter-richardson-tests-positive-cannabis-could-miss-olympics-sources-2021-07-02/
  11. the Discovery vs cable/sat provider in Europe is quite common dispute... also here in Italy, any renewal between sky ITA and Eusp/Discovery is a mess...and this year, like it was in Pyeongchang, despite we have Eusp1 & 2 on sky ITA lineup, they won't show the Olympic Games on their channels because sky ITA doesn't want to pay an extra amount of money for that... we can only rely on eurosport player (or D+ app, here we're in the middle of the transition...so, most likely we're gonna have 2 different apps showing all the Olympic stuff) and not on any traditional tv channel... p.s. I agree...we're losing all the sport we used to have for free thanks to those greedy pay tv/OTT companies...and that's not good in many ways...
  12. yeah, I'm also taking advantage of the Black Friday offer (24.99€/year, so, even less than you ) for many years, but since a few people asked about it for the Olympics, I reported the not discounted offer taking place right now in Italy... I know that's different from most Countries, but it's just to give an idea of how cheap it is if compared to basically any other sport service...
  13. women's Team Trap Gold: Great Britain Silver: Russia Bronze: Czech Republic men's Team Trap Gold: France Silver: Czech Republic Bronze: Croatia
  14. yes, Eurosport Player is the place to go this year (and in 2022 and 2024)... to be honest, it's so cheap that I don't think it would be a problem for anybody in the whole European Continent... I don't know how much it is in your Country, but if you can have it for 7.99€ for 1 month (or 50€ for a full year) here in Italy, I guess it's even cheaper by you... about vpn, I only recommend Express VPN or Nord VPN...they're not so cheap, but they're by far the top 2 around, the only ones that have enough Nations and enough speed to allow all the streams to go to their best resolution and bitrate... if you only need US servers, Windscribe is also good...and they have 10 GB of available data also on the free version (you only need to sign up)... they also have a nice android tv app to be used directly on your TV (if you have an android TV)...
  15. if this means corruption, covering doping scandals and money stealing...well, there's no need to answer to that...obviously they have to be thrown out (and for a very long period, until at least every single person involved in the previous crimes is still trolling around the sport in any role in any Country, even if only at local level)... if this means "only" some kind of internal fights for the leading positions, they should be fixed, maybe even some kind of punishment might be given, but I don't think a full ban from the Games would be required (unless things get worse and worse after the first warning)... so, I just picked the 3rd option (I don't know) because of this dilemma...
  16. how to waste a big medal chance... with those 2 paired, if something could go wrong, surely it will go worse... I hope to be wrong, but I don't think it's a savior idea to put their personal problems into the Olympic squad by forcing them to make a team...
  17. more something like "let's get quick with her gender examination"... I wouldn't be surprised at all if she's a new case of the Semenya & co. saga... for sure, there's nothing to trust when you see something like that...
  18. finally! after a nightmerish period (quite a long one), Silvana Stanco is back to her best shape... and Mauro De Filippis in the end won a world cup event... so, all this means that maybe our mixed trap team might finally work also without Jessica Rossi, who notoriously doesn't want to shoot together with her former husband De Filippis anymore... it took quite a while, but there's a chance that we paced everything well to be at our best just when it really matters ('cause Rio 2016 will be very difficult to match)...
  19. 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Mixed Team Event Gold: Germany #2 Silver: Russia #1 Bronze: Germany #1 women's Trap Gold: Silvana Stanco Silver: Jessica Rossi Bronze: Jana Spotakova men's Trap Gold: Mauro De Filippis Silver: Ioannis Chatzitsakiroglu Bronze: Giovanni Cernogoraz
  20. considering that also Di Marco threw almost 65m, I guess there were more than helpful conditions... I hope it was only the wind and not any other "trick"...
  21. men's 100m: Bromell Simbine Kerley women's 100m: Fraser-Price Richardson Thompson men's Javelin: Vetter Krukowski Walcott women's Javelin: Lyu Hussong Mitchell men's Triple Jump: Zango Pichardo Claye women's Triple Jump: Rojas Ricketts Williams side poll: Tamberi (men's High Jump) and Palmisano (women's 20km Race Walk) are the only true medal chances for Italy... then, if at least a couple of the top 5 favourite in the men's 100m fail, maybe even Jacobs (men's 100m) and Giorgi (women's 20km Race Walk) could have an outside chance to make the podium... the rest of our specialists are lucky if they can get in the bottom ranks of some final or get close to the final (and many are just "cosmetic")...
  22. men: women: hopefully in this same order...I mean...no Korean gold...I know...I'm a dreamer...
  23. men's 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Gold: Jean Quiquampoix Silver: Christian Reitz Bronze: OIiver Geis 50m 3-Position Rifle women's Team Event Gold: Russia Silver: Austria Bronze: Ukraine 50m 3-Position Rifle Mixed Team Event Gold: Poland Silver: Croatia #1 Bronze: Belarus
  24. game pretty much in control for the Lightning... not a great game, though...both teams looked to be quite nervous and there were too many provocative fouls and retalliations, especially when the score was clearly in favour of the home team... MTL loses once again game #1 of a playoff series and also saw their power play successful streak coming to an end... definitely not a good night for them... I hope to see some better hockey in game #2...
