I think some AIN athletes could benefit from that. I can see they giving out 4 tripartite and 4 AIN quotas or something like that.
no, AIN fencers won't get wild cards, but some of them will qualify through the Continental qualifiers
I mean, I wouldn't be surprised at all if they get 4 places out of 6 at that tournament (still, we have to see who's gonna compete for them)

and i don't get how a country with 2 of the 5 best athletes in the world can't get a reasonable team.
it might happen...
and it's not even the first time it actually happens
in Rio, Italy didn't qualify the women's epee team despite having Fiamingo (undisputed no.1 in the world at that time, world champion and world cup champion in 2014 and 2015) and Navarria (who in 2016 was the no.2 in the world behind Fiamingo and had to miss those Olympic Games because of that same rule)
p.s. to qualify the team, it's not enough being a "reasonable" team, in Europe you generally need to be among the 5 best teams in the world to qualify (look at Germany in the men's team sabre...they're no.6 in the world and despite that, they're out)
fencing is one of the sports with the hardest qualifying pathways, it's easier to win a medal when you're in than qualifying for the Games

Kansas City Chiefs have signed Louis Rees-Zammit but let's see if he makes the 53 squad for the season (still five months away). I presume he would be useful in kick/punt returns but he has to avoid muffs or else he will be gone quickly (as was Jarryd Hayne during his 49ers adventure in 2015).
surely the new kickoff rule will help him...he'll be more familiar than ever with the new formations that will be developed by the new rule

Yeah, total disaster...
Joj TV group (having Joj šport) and Markíza Tv group the main commercial TV networks companies in the country are leading a war against czech TV channels whom Slovak viewers watch more than slovak channels (it started mainly because of expensive movies and TV shows which people intended to watch on czech TVs - including me, I do not remember last time I watched a movie or Tv serie on slovak chennel lol, arguing they do not have the rights to show it in Slovakia while Slovak channels have to pay for the rights and none watch them but rather watch them on czech Tv channels...)
This led to close some czech TV channels in Slovakia... but,
then came Joj group which get the TV rights for the Ice Hockey Worlds and you know the issue they are furious people will instead watch the hockey worlds on Czech Sport Tv than on Joj šport which argue by paying a lot of money for these rights in Slovakia, while ČT Sport does not have the rights to broadcast in this country at all and blah blah blah... so they managed to convince sadly the Czech public TV to cut their sport channel for Slovakia...
Yep, dumb and sad. People are generally extremely angry and pissed, many now are deliberately boycotting Joj and Markíza channels, but we can not do anything, sadly Czech Sport TV is gone
yeah, I read all the stuff on a Czech site (parabola.cz)
I'm spent...I have to find out if I can buy another subscription with Czech registration
(not a fan of switching to online only services like Telly.cz, even if it looks top class)

They could do only mixed teams:
Option a: 1 or 2 female Sabre/foil/epee + 1 or 2 male Sabre/foil/epee fencers -> 3 team events
Option b: 1 male/female epee fencer + 1 male/female Sabre fencer + 1 male/female foil fencer -> 2 team events
More nations that can realistically win a medal (= better tv ratings) + less athletes -> win-win for the IOC
don't give those idiots such "great" ideas
Fencing is good as it is (and the team events are the best in every individual sport)...they only have to recognize that now it has become one of the most well spread sports around the world, with a lot of Countries from every Continent capable of winning medals in any International competition and therefore give more space to it
no changes, just more athletes!

Yup.
They need to change it to the first 4 spots are awarded to the 4 continents, and then the top 4 remaining teams, not the other away aroundthey should just enlarge the field to 12 teams (and get rid of those non-sports like breakdance, artistic swimming & co. to make space for that, if they simply can't do it straight forward)

Going to my first ever NHL game today!
Fingers crossed the Canucks can clinch their spot in the playoffs today.
I’ll share some pictures when I get back
I'm sure it's gonna be a wonderful experience! enjoy!
(I'm a bit envious...the NHL "in place" is the one of the two big Hockey events I'm still missing in my life -the other, of course, are the Olympics, but I hope to make up for that in less than 2 years )
p.s.
QuoteFingers crossed the Canucks can clinch their spot in the playoffs today
or maybe not
go Kings, go!

the NFL is taking seriously the LA 2028 challenge...
to help their players practicing for that event, in fact, they just banned also the hip-drop tackles
https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-owners-vote-to-ban-hip-drop-tackle-at-annual-league-meeting
after all the banned defensive plays of the past years, with this one now they're as close as it gets to a true flag football league

I cant believe what just happened. made it to the final and secured a team spot in Paris 🥹🥹🥹🥹. I shed a lot of happy tears for them.
and Neisser Loyola can join the party, too
he looked so sad and destroyed yesterday after losing the final vs Cannone because he knew he wasn't going to Paris (at least in that moment), but now I guess his mindset has completely turned around

my personal takes...
team overperforming compared to the pre-season expectations (and the past years results): Vancouver Canucks, definitely the biggest surprise of the year
teams doing better than expected, but nothing special: Winnipeg and Nashville
teams heavily underperforming (and basically out of the playoff race): Pittsburgh above all, then New Jersey
at a lesser extent, also Minnesota, Seattle and Calgary also didn't match the early predictions
the defending champions Vegas are also having a modest season, but they had been injury plagued and however they're still going to the PO, where they might be very difficult to beat
the Chicago Blackhawks showing how difficult is to rebuild a team from scratch, even after drafting a generational talent like Connor Bedard (also because of a mangement not doing well with the other tech choices and too many injuries to some key players, tbh)
individual efforts: Auston Matthews chasing the highest goal scoring performance since many, many years; the race for the scoring title between Kucherov, McDavid and McKinnon, all 3 reaching numbers rarely seen in the 21st Century
but above all, the year in Canada has been dominated by the scandals surrounding the game of Hockey, both among the professionals (5 players charged with sex assault accusations) and the youth system (so many allegations to the so-called coaches and educators, lots of attempts to hide all the dirty stuff at the top level of Hockey Canada followed by resignations and dismissals of many propminent officials)...
all in all, not a great year for Hockey in Canada
