  3. Additionally, this is fifth final between Sinner and Medvedev over the last 12 months, what a rivalry has developed between the two
  4. Meanwhile, unbelievable to see Meddy losing another AO final after being 2-0 up
  5. Great to see Sabalenka defending the title and keeping some consistency in WTA. Hopefully she doesn't follow Azarenka's path and adds few more titles
  6. Yes, Novak was well beyond his level in the first two sets; however, Sinner played so good, served amazingly well and no any break chance for Novak says it all. Well played. I had predicted Sinner winning over Djokovic in the semis. Whether it is indeed a final decline from Novak or not, this year is going to be bumpy and with more losses than usual. I also highly doubt he'll win another slam too, cause young guy are becoming more consistent and with Alcaraz, Sinner, Medvedev, Zverev and occasionally Rune, Tsitsipas, why not Rublev too, maybe 11th time is a charm!, with potential new names, it is hard to get easy draw. Hopefully Sinner wins the title, it has been amazing last couple of months for him Meanwhile, very exciting first set between Meddy and Zverev
  7. My prediction: Nigeria-Morocco and Senegal-Egypt
  8. Zheng will be top 10 now, and hopefully she can beat Yastremska too, it would be quite disappointing not capitalizing on such a draw. Dayana is fulfilling her potential though. It is great to see where she goes from this. I truly hope she finally matured and approaches with such calmness and determination in the future too. On men's side, as great a story it would be if Novak won once more, I honestly hope for Sinner-Alcaraz final with Sinner winning. He improved so much since last autumn, and with a GS title we'll get this rivalry with Alcaraz raised to another level. We've seen that rivalries is what pushes players to keep improving and give their best. The lack of any rivalry on WTA did quite a damage. Having to rival doesn't make it interesting either for the followers - having one player winning everything.
  9. Not that Paul would beat Alcaraz in five sets, but Kecmanovic robbed us of potentially more interesting match. This way a routine 3-0 for Carlos
  10. Svitolina's path is cleaning up very nicely. I don't trust Zheng to make the final at all. But would be amazing story though. If Sabalenka survives Anisimova, she mustn't let this title slip into anyone's hands.
  11. Seems we are entering "EEVA" era with Andreeva, Korneeva and Timofeeva coming up
  12. I knew Haddad Maia wouldn't use kind draw she could have made a QF here try to re-enter top 10 before some serious points start to come off.
  13. If you watched Pegula's matches since the start of the year you would notice her on court demeanor. I mean, she is usually not a type of fist pumping-come on type of player, but gives vibes of bored Vondrousova. And let's not forget that Burel already had a big scalp on a GS beating Rybakina, fresh Wimbledon champion, at US Open 2022 as a qualifier before losing to Sabalenka in R3. Overall more surprising is she lost to Burel, not that it was a second round
  14. Crazy match between Rybakina and Blinkova. Disappointed Rybakina couldn't convert her match points. After great Brisbane she should have made at least semifinal here. That quarter of the draw is hilarious now. If Zheng really aspires to get far, she has a great chance here. Pegula losing early ain't surprising - losing to Burel is what is baffling a bit Gauff keeps getting cakewalks to semifinals and I can see Aryna losing her sh*t again in the semis against Coco But would love to see Iga spanking Swiatek yet again! With Rybakina being out, and Ostapenko being big IF as always, Iga could (should) make the final relatively easy.
  15. Well, he is not a Superman and honestly, winning a single GS this year would be something huge at his age with all the young players coming. I honestly don't expect him to win a GS this year, unless he gets some kind draw. It will be good if he gets to that 100th ATP title though. I've been watching Prizmic since he was 16, great prospect! Hopefully stars align well and Balkan gets new huge star
  16. With all due respect, Dimipova >>>> Tsitsidosa
  17. With major injury being badositis
  18. We still haven't annexed Tasmania
  19. Kasatkina again with two wins only gets to the final of Adelaide Let's see if she can manage more than two games this time. Hopefully Ostapenko wins the title AND does some damage in Melbourne too, but one never knows with her
  20. From expected Shelton-Fils final between to rising stars we got Taro Daniel and Alejandro Tabilo (q) in Auckland
  21. Chemist, currently only lecturing chemistry + preparing students for Chemistry Olympiads. Can't complaint, I enjoy teaching and seeing my students winning Olympic medals brings such a joy!
