  1. Rakhi’s 214 is her equal best (not counting national championships). She has outside chance of making it to Tokyo. But, even if she qualifies it won’t matter much. Interesting, I had analysed Chinese possibilities and concluded it is in their best interest to send athlete in 49kg. 10kg difference in 49kg is huge snd it is a sure shot gold for them. But, I missed possibility of PRK not sending Ri in 49kg. At present it seems following is situation of PRK: 49kg: fight with Mirabai for Silver/Bronze 55kg: no chance 59kg: fight with Taipei for Gold/Silver 64kg: clear silver 76kg: clear Gold if CHN doesn’t send 87kg: clear silver +87kg: fight for Silver/Bronze with USA if CHN doesn’t send and fight for Bronze if CHN sends. So, yes there is a very real possibility that North Korea won’t send a lifter in 49kg.
  2. Really disappointed. Sorry to say but it looks like he chickened out.
  3. I am not sure. He is an excellent wrestler who has now reached finals of World Championships at Cadet, Youth and Senior level at such a young age but it will take him some time to be at top class. Over here, he got lucky and got a very easy draw. Still, he had to win those matches and he did show composure to eke out wins even when it seemed it was over. This run will give him good experience and enough time to prepare for Tokyo.
  4. I obviously got it. I meant we might get help from referees to defeat the Turk as it will benefit Kazakhstan.
  5. That is actually possible. Final for us would bring Kazakh in repechage and give them quota.
  6. I am hopeful that our youngster Deepak Punia will be able to make the most of this dream draw and get both quota and medal. Also, what is the Turkish policy on competing against Israel?
  7. Quota for either or in 125kg What a lopsided draw in 86kg. Very light top draw compared to monstrous bottom draw.
  8. China can only nominate one of the two. There is a limit of only one lifter per NOC per weight class. None of the Thai lifters has participated in any event in the second period which ends in October. There are a couple of events still remaining in the second period (Asian Junior Championships, Mediterranean Cup and few more Bronze level events) but I think entries for those events also would have closed by now. So, even if Thailand has a change of heart, time is running out.
  9. Quota places are allocated to NOC not wrestlers. NOC can win only one quota in each weight class. Wrestler can win only one quota across all weight classes.
  10. Don’t waste your break time in answering this troll. Instead give us preview for tomorrow’s wrestling.
  11. In combat sports like Boxing, Wrestling there is no fair world. You give your best and hope that you are not screwed by refs/federation.
  12. Kazakhi literally ran off the mat once and still no points were given to Bajrang.
  13. Quotas in 57kg FS: Quotas in 65kg FS: Quotas in 62kg WW: Quotas in 68kg WW:
  14. And Bajrang makes it 2/2 for India. We have 2 semifinalists today.
  15. Ravi has won the quota and qualified for the semifinal defeating European champion Harutyunyan and ex-World Champion Takahashi
  16. Damn you IJF. Forcing poor Algerians into World events.
  17. Looking forward to seeing @MHSN‘s reaction on final quarter of 65kg.
