  1. Curling: 3-10 GOLD! I said to my dad on the day before the Olympics I don't know much about our medal hopes/chances, I just hope we win at least one gold so they play the national anthem there and it's happened. So delighted and noone deserves it more than Eve Muirhead. Bobsleigh: Brad Hall with a 58.65 in Run 3, putting him in 6th with a total time of 2:56.34. And in the final run, 59.38 with a total time of 3:55.72, enough for 6th. Just the Closing Ceremony to come of these Olympics and we get one gold medal, and one silver, both in curling. It's pretty disappointing of course, but it's probably better than we were fearing at one point. I feel like writing something longer about the state of our Olympic team, but for now I'm going to mope as I have nothing to do
  2. Schedule for Day 16: 0100 Curling: Women's Gold Medal Game: vs 0130 Bobsleigh: 4-man Heat 3 - Brad Hall 0320 Bobsleigh: 4-man Heat 4 - Brad Hall 1200 Closing Ceremony inc. Parade of Nations

  4. Welcome to Totallympics Molly, I think that the IOC is corrupt (although less so than some IFs), rotten even but with the host cities up for selection being Beijing and Almaty (Kazakhstan) I think they made the right decision. I don't think the Chinese needed to bribe them. @Grassmarket Qazaqstan is romanised from Kazakh, Kazakhstan is romanised from Russian, so I guess it's like the Ukrainians changing the English name of their capital from Kiev (Russian) to Kyiv (Ukrainian)
  5. Curling: 5-4 . Our first medal of the Olympic Games is Silver.
  6. BBC commentator has had too much sugar in his coffee I think

  14. Let's be honest, the whole Olympic Movement is rotten, from the selection to the host cities, the way horses are treated in equestrian and modern pentathlon, the corrupt judging in boxing, etc., the sex abuse cases, the systemic doping (not just by Russia) there are so many problems but this is such a brazen example. The Olympic GAMES were meant to be for the love of the sport, but this is literal child abuse by unscrupulous people thinking "victory at all costs", because a gold medal is clearly worth destroying a child physically and mentally.
  15. Freestyle Skiing: Atkin got a 10.75 in her second run, keeping her in 12th. A 73.25 in her final run meant she finished 9th. In the Men's Ski Cross, Oliver Davies came in 31st in his Seeding Run with a 1:14.84. In his 1/8 Final he came in 4th and did not progress (only the first two did). Bobsleigh: Brad Hall came 4th in Heat 5 (59.28) and 6th in Heat 6 (1:00.23).
  16. Freestyle Skiing: In the first run, Zoe Atkin got an 18.75, putting her in 12th.
  17. Such an intense game, it's a shame this sport is only really important in this country every four years. Brilliant afternoon

Gus Kenworthy got an 8.50 in his first run, putting him in 22nd, but a 70.75 in his second run put him in 12th, just qualifying in the last spot.
