  1. Cross-country should be the best phase for all Canadians, except maybe Jessie Phoenix & Pavarotti who are usually slow.
  2. 79.726% for Kittel & Well Done de la Roche. Briliant score, but honestly I still don't get what judges see in this horse. I just can't wrap my head around it.
  3. Team standings after dressage... It's so close that the positions don't matter at all.
  4. Dongal's Trish Ryan is the individual indeed. Also I think this is much better cross-country team than in Rio. Ok, Ennis and Daniels are not super consistent, but if they are clear then they are also fast. Sam Watson is according to many people one of the best XC riders in the World (didn't compete in Rio), while McCarthy & Mr Chunky were very classy in Badminton this year. I remember Ian Stark himself picking him as the Badminton round of the day.
  5. Briliant dressage day for Ireland (not something you say often ). Reynolds qualifies for freestyle, Ennis and McCarthy enter top 10 in eventing!! All that despite McCarthy being the victim of the biggest robbery of WEG so far.
  6. Kasey Perry-Glass is the new leader at 78.5%... Sadly, it looks like the Swedish judge still has a personal agenda against her, just like in Aachen.
  7. Indeed, and she has also proven her worth in another job this week. She did an excellent job as co-commentator at FEItv in couple of sessions, definitely one of the best athlete commentators I've heard! Funnily enough, the host commentator is also Irish, and at one point they exchanged some Irish saying while talking about whether. I didn't quite catch it, but before that they were talking about having all four seasons during a day in Tryon.
  8. @OlympicIRL Judy Reynolds & Vancouver have just secured the top 15 freestyle final, after climbing no less than 11 positions compared to yesterday. What a comeback!
  9. Huge 77% for Ramel. Has she done that yesterday, Sweden would have taken the medal.
  10. What an awful day for the hosts after winning the team silver yesterday. Steffen Peters is 16th, Adrienne Lyle 17th (out of 17)! Both made huge and uncharacteristic mistakes. So this means the Americans will shockingly not have the full 3 quotas for the freestyle.
  11. And Sara & Wega are back. No idea why Swedish selectors put her as individual, instead of a team member, but oh well... Similar to putting Emma McNab in the team, instead of Bill Levett. Cross-country is by far Emma's worst phase, so this selection is very anti-Australian.
  12. Severo Jurado's Deep Impact was sadly somewhat irregular today. Special dressage standings at half-way Oatley - 74.605% Ferrer-Salat & Catilla Ruiz (tied) - 74.103% Incredibly, Oatley has been the leader for like the whole afternoon, despite the reverse order start list. She secures her first qualification for freestyle since Sydney 2000!!
  13. From what I understand, the composite teams will be automatically made using the rankings. So, slightly different from before when you just needed to qualify enough individuals.
  14. It's quite possible that both get reallocated to the composite teams in such case, especially since an annex was published which stipulates that at least 3 team members have to complete in order to get the quota. South Africa has two 3* riders at the moment, so they may find the third. India might have a really small chance too. China and Hong Kong shouldn't be able to do anything in this time frame.
  15. 2nd, 3rd, and... 25th???!! Unbelieveable, I feel so sorry for Padraig.
  16. 74.590% for Oatley! Very well done, massive improvement from yesterday.
  17. Belgian dentist (yep, there is some weird connection between equestrians and dentists) Laurence Roos opens the Special with 70.471%.
  18. Phoenix was going towards a great score, but then she got 1.67 average for the first flying change...
  19. Live scoring is dead again. Astier Nicolas opened the second day of eventing dressage with 27.2, and he slots into 3rd place individually.
  20. Cross-country course preview. This combination has ABCDEFG elements, at least for the long route. Also the horses will be jumping up the water falls, possibly for the first time since 1984 Olympics.
  21. Agree 100% on Selena's opinion about eventing here.
  22. Muhlstatter Chioldo Pesek Midili Bertolani These are the qualifiers for individual reining final from the repechage. Uruguay sadly missed out by only 0.5 points.
  23. Standings in eventing after day 1 in dressage... Individual Julia Krajewski & Chipmunk - 19.9 Boyd Martin & Tsetserleg - 27.1 Piggy French & Quarrycrest Echo - 27.8 Boyd & Tsetserleg remained the nicest surprise of the day. Team Germany - 50.10 Australia - 58.40 France - 59.40 And, surprise, surprise, there was a Spanish showman. And o
