Official report shows 46, which is still... a lot. Poland only had 19 shots.
Belarus can still probably qualify with two regulation wins (assuming Murray isn't randomly on the form of his life and Poland just takes this tournament) but it's definitively a terrible start for them.
Huh. I guess Polish TV’s definition of a shot is way different!

YES!!!!
They may not get to the Olympics but this would certainly help Slovakia...

That must be some curse or I do not know. this is just written in advance all over. we are doomed.
Feherváry the Washington DC "taxi team" prospect was expected to be very likely our most important top line blueliner of this team was injured in yesterdays evening training. a minor muscle injury but can't play for a week I just can´t ! I never felt so devastated like these last two weeks after the information from our NHLers. I feel so bad, so scraed and so helpless
I am in situation now that I do not want to even open any news site... I opened our news site a couple of minutes ago and boom..Feherváry out for injury
Honnestly If it will end the way I am afraid, I will probably need a break from sport, everything
If Slovakia loses out on an Olympic place to a team ranked below Spain and a team that bought a third of its players from North America, this will be a great injustice.

I remember that they showed final Olympic match qualifying between CZE and SUI last time (4 years ago).
But it Is shamed that they do not show world championship. Volleyball, Handball, Basketball yes (if they have rights for it), florbal!!! (Every match in group (not only Czech) when nothing new will happen (in semifinal FIN, SWE, SUI, CZE) and result 16:0,... Sledge hockey, sure, we need to show it,... But world women hockey Championship not? It is really shamed.
And Olympic women ice hockey Championship only might show? What else?
Oh you're right, they did! I honestly must not have found it last time I looked in the archives.
Also they always show junior and under-18 world championships too... just not women...

No idea, I see no TV in Denmark has the rights. But I do believe the organizers will release a general world-wide live stream shortly before the match or so, They did it usually in the past.
I´ll keep looking for eventual informations, so I will inform you if I find anything new.
plus there still a way to find a stream in other way in onhockey.net if nothing official will be available. http://onhockey.tv/index.php?place=sawlive&channel=tvh
The saddest thing is I don't think Czech TV has ever showed a game of the Czech women. They only show women's hockey when it's at the Olympics, which is crazy. BUT I wrote them and they said they might show the women's Olympic qualification in Příbram.
"dle vyjádření Redakce sportu se s českými zápasy z příbramské kvalifikace hokejistek předběžně počítá."

So WA changed some things around according to this: https://www.worldathletics.org/competitions/olympic-games/the-xxxii-olympic-games-athletics-7132391/athletes?urlSlug=the-xxxii-olympic-games-athletics-7132391&competitionGroup=olympic-games&disciplineCode=&sexCode=&countryCode=
is now on men's 800. in women's 1500, in womens 400 hurdles, and in men's 1500, in 110 hurdles.
doesn't have a female listed anymore, and is still in 100m.
I don't know if any other changes where made.
That's great! Shame it was too late for Bermuda/the Nepalese marathoner but at least they realized. IMO universality places shouldn't be included in the World Ranking... hopefully they will fix that for later events.

plz guys if anyone has relation to any kind of media share the news about this corrupted Hesham Hatab the president of our NOC
I'm not sure this is a story we would cover unless it's really blatant corruption (vs. just a disputed selection process) but if Joanne/Sameh wants to reach out to the content editor with a pitch for a story, they definitely can. http://aroundtherings.com/site/303/About-Us/Contact-Us If they do I'll let the editors know.

Good idea. What media/platform do you plan to use?
As said before, it's an absolute disgrace of WA. F.e. the guy from TLS has a ~14:30 PB over 5000m and might not be world class, but he still has a very decent level (better than >99,99% of the world) and it is absolutely disrespectful to offer such an athlete a place for an event where he has no connection with and - from the point of view of WA - where the athletes least bothers the entire event. Likewise, you don't ask a dressage rider to compete in show jumping because there are no more slots available for dressage.
Around The Rings, I am interning there. Thank you everyone for your ideas. Main thing now is to get a quote from one of the athletes. Have reached out to a couple, so will see if any reply, and then a story can be done.
-
@dcro @Jur @Makedonas @JoshMartini007 @LowerSaxony I'm thinking of writing a story about World Athletics denying non-100m athletes universality spots... people deserve to know about it. If anyone knows of any other cases where athletes were denied spots and replaced by sprinters, please let me know! So far we have Tyrone Smith (long jump) and Gopi Chandra Parki (marathon), but I bet there could be more.
In the 100m start lists, eight athletes I found are specialized in other events, according to World Athletics records.
- Women: (400m/800m), (triple jump), (100m hurdles), (400m hurdles)
- Men: (5000m/10000m), (1500m), (110m hurdles), (800m/1500m)

Thanks a lot!!! It was a huge upset. I could not watch because the game started 4:00 a.m. in my time zone. Just finished watching highlights. Incredible game!!! So happy and excited. Let's see about the final with
I must’ve had two heart attacks. Incredible how the Czechs collapsed in the last minute and then bounced back. All the momentum should’ve been with Canada but they overcame!

Guys, out of curiosity. Was trying to figure out how many teams will qualify for the figure skating team event at the Olympics. I found the quali criteria but I failed to find the number of team will qualify for Beijing 2022. Thanks
I'm pretty sure it's 10 teams like last time. Czechs in my opinion are sure to qualify.
- (currently ranked 1-6) will definitely be there.
-
(7) doesn't have an Olympic-caliber ice dancing team, and Zandron will have a very tough time qualifying for the men's event anyway -
(8) to my knowledge doesn't have any active pairs teams (none have appeared at their Nationals since 2018) - (9) will almost certainly qualify either a woman or a pairs team at Nebelhorn, so they should make it
-
(10) has no men, pairs or ice dancers -
(11) it would be a miracle if either Hallam or Jones/Boyadji qualified, given how few spots are in play for men/pairs - (12) have already qualified in 3 events, so they will be there
- (13) have a strong pairs team and ice dancing team, at least one should definitely qualify at Nebelhorn
- (14) Czechs as it stands are #10, the last qualifiers, and will only need at most one additional quota for ice dancing
-
(15-20) are all missing Olympic-level athletes in at least one discipline, so even if they overtake Czechs on ranking points, they shouldn't be a threat

What I’m suggesting/theorizing, is those countries have been awarded the quotas via the world championships. They already have the quota, but it has to be confirmed at the Nebelhorn. This would mean that the Nebelhorn would award quotas to the best 6 unqualified NOCs, and the confirm the quotas for countries who finish where they need to in order to qualify. If any those countries fail to finish wherever needed, then that country loses a quota, and it gets reallocated to the next best unqualified NOC.
It's not a bad theory but just reading the paragraph it's quite a stretch. "ISU Members who have earned the necessary points according to Rule 378, paragraph 2b) and c) will have the right for two (2) or three (3) entries if, in addition, they had two (2), respectively three (3) Skaters/Pairs/Couples qualified for the Free Skating/Free Dance in the World Senior Championships immediately preceding the OWG."

3. Twenty-four (24) entries for Ladies and Men, sixteen (16) entries for Pairs and nineteen (19) entries for Ice Dance will be determined according to the classification outlined in paragraph 2 above. ISU Members who have earned the necessary points according to Rule 378, paragraph 2b) and c) will have the right for two (2) or three (3) entries if, in addition, they had two (2), respectively three (3) Skaters/Pairs/Couples qualified for the Free Skating/Free Dance in the World Senior Championships immediately preceding the OWG. The remaining entries under this paragraph 3 will be attributed to the ISU Members with the best placed and qualified for the Free Skating/Free Dance Skaters at the World Senior Championships immediately preceding the OWG.
4. The remaining open entries available will be filled by ISU Members in order of their placements at a Senior International Competition designated by the ISU and conducted in the autumn of the calendar year immediately preceding the Olympic Winter Games. The open entries are available only to: a) ISU Members which have not previously earned an entry, for only one entry per such ISU Member. b) ISU Members which have earned the necessary points for two (2) or three (3) entries but did not have two (2) respectively three (3) Skaters qualified for the Free Skating/Free Dance at the World Senior Championships immediately preceding the OWG. Such ISU Members are entitled to enter one Skater in the qualifying event who, however, cannot be a Skater that had qualified for the Free Skating/Free Dance at the World Senior 30 Championships immediately preceding the OWG.
I don't know about you all but this seems to obviously say to me that 24/16/19 entries will be given out at the World Championships and are not 'reserved' for the Nebelhorn trophy.
If not then both Brezinova and our pairs team miss out...

Yeah, the men’s single is going to be a bloodbath at the Nebelhorn.
Luckily, already have skiers qualified from the world championships. Germany is the only team nation missing a skater in the men’s event, and it’s well within the realm of possibility that they’ll be able to get that quota at the Nebelhorn.
True, and they could get an additional team quota if they don't make it there. Does have any pair skaters though? There weren't any at this year's Korean Nationals.
-
- From my calculations, the Men's Nebelhorn Trophy will be a mess, as all have the right to enter a skater there. But, since two skaters qualified for the free skate but only earned one quota, there will be 7 spots available at Nebelhorn instead of 6. So it'll basically be the entire world's second-tier skaters fighting for two quota spots
- Same with pairs as will definitely claim one of the 3 quotas, but I'm not sure if (also eligible) has another pair.
- The women's will be much better though as while the is a sure quota and don't have anyone else who would reach the WCH free skate regularly, so that'll be the world fighting for 5 spots.
