  1. Just on Tara Hanlon, she’s no longer part of the national squad, so you can rule her out of future combinations
  2. Ireland needs to get some freestylers qualified but with the 4x100 medley qualified they might be OK
  3. There are tons of “soft” entries in every sport. It’s a good thing too.
  4. There's no chance of using a women's quota for the men's events
  5. They probably all should have asterisks on them saying “*pending they don’t test positive” at this stage
  6. The only events I have followed Womens team pursuit 1 New Zealand 2 GB 3 France Women’s Madison 1 GB 2 France 3 USA Women’s omnium 1 Kopecky (Belgium) 2 Wollaston (NZ) 3 Gillespie (Ireland) Completely biased with Lara Gillespie but a big result is coming for her!
  7. Some nations skipping Hong Kong and others putting in B teams might really effect some close qualifications Luckily for reaching the women’s team pursuit gold final guarantees they can’t be caught now and qualification is confirmed (by my calculations anyway!)
  8. Only 8 nations for the women’s team pursuit. Should officially see NZ, Australia, Italy, Germany and Ireland all confirmed tomorrow
  9. There’s plenty of speculation in that post and I’m not going to argue point by point I’ll just say specifically on Moorhouse, she’s had 9 fights against non Irish women in the last year and lost 4 of them. I’m not saying she has no chance, but she needs a very good draw. I hope they all get OK draws and way more than I think get through FWIW I don’t think Aidan Walsh will go to Thailand. Just a bunch
  10. We need luck with draws for anyone other than Cassidy and the 66kg woman (whoever it is) We need a little luck with them too but the others need a lot of luck. Moorehouse included
  11. She just won’t be British. She’ll stay with the refugee team.
  12. You’ll need more than a single post on here to explain the British immigration system!
  13. To be fair I’ll repeat a post from earlier in the thread. Not one single judge saw this fight the same way in all three rounds. I simply can’t see how anyone gave the 2nd round to the Polish women but 3 did, and that was the difference
  14. Remember all those posts by me defending judging and saying 99% of complaints about robberies were just moaning DISREGARD ALL OF THAT Poor Grainne Walsh
  15. He's usually a decent commentator and Nicola Adams knows way more than me. Maybe they were trying to create drama but won all 3 rounds easily IMO
  16. Clear win for the man from , Commentary is embarrassing here
  17. I thought it was pretty informative that despite every weight awarding 2 quotas, they had a third place play off
  18. Recent medal winning countries that so far have not qualified, and who won't qualify a boxer at this tournament 2020 2016 2012 Armenia the biggest surprise there
  19. Maximum teams available after WQ1 (i.e. those qualified + those remaining in this tournament) 12 11 10 9 8 7 6 5 Australia (unsurprisingly) and Algeria don't have any qualifiers left. Poland can have five, but have zero confirmed so far.
  20. Very strange situation. He was behind on 4 of the scorecards after round one. About 45 secs into the second after a pretty innocuous looking exchange he just put his hand in the air to wave to sort of say “that’s it” an injury makes most sense but there wasn’t really any sign of it during the bout
  21. Not yet. Only the finalists at 57kg for women qualify
