IMO, last "good" games were London 2012. After that, Bach is steadily killing Olympics. He is doing that in few simple but effective steps. 1. Reducing number of athletes by any cost 2. Artificially equaling gender representation 3. Adding some sports which are "urban" and youth appealing (are they sport at all is a question to discuss) 4. Destroying traditional sports by reducing categories or even disciplines and by adding some mix competitions which are pointless 5. Saving as much money as possible Maybe i am old, but i started to like olympics when they were "normal". This V2010+ version is...blah... not my cup of tea.

Thanks. I actually started to like Arturo in 2012 when he was flawless. His performance was something perfect. After that i watched WC and up until Rio, that was it. Elefterios was perfect back in Rio, but before start i somehow hoped for another gold for Zanetti. I like rings the most so i will observe it closely this time.

Yes, karate has long tradition in Montenegro, Hodzic is an example of those relatively young karatekas who can win a medal in a perfect setting. Rakovic is more experienced,she also won few medals at major events. To be honest, i dont like karate and i watch it occasionally, so i cant compare them with top karatekas. Remotely, Hodzic should be closest to medal. Gojkovic is also part of infamous Montenegrin system in which amateur boxing is poorely financed and governed, as a result we have 18 years old pro boxers but also pro champions Radosevic or Zlaticanin ( their olympic careers were nonexistent). On the other hand, club in which she trains is leaded by Russians so she is under their influence since earliest years. Women boxing in Russia isnt strong as mens but still, she is probably best prospect for an olympic medal in individual sport Montenegro ever had.

I am curious about Zanetti. Wasnt he favorite for gold before Rio?

6 European countries can qualify? Belgium is much stronger than Slovenia so if Slovenia losses in 1/8 final then its all over for them.

For As in 2016, no real medal prospects. Mens water polo and womens handball should be closest to medal but in both sports we hit our prime so winning a medal would be huge surprise. In water polo Serbia, Croatia and Italy/Spain are top contenders. Also we have Greece and Hungary, USA is always dangerous. Montenegrin team changed a lot, there are many new players... Thing to note, when we were favorites ( Beijing, London) we finished empty handed. Now, we arent favorites,so things could be different in Tokyo. Wheels of fortune... Handball team is solid, we have few London medalists but with France,Russia, Spain and Norway it will be hell of a task. All other participant wont be close to medal except, maybe, Bojana Gojkovic in boxing,if she manages to qualify. She is still a junior but she is unbeatable last few years. She is 2x European champion,she regularly beats Russian and other top boxers. I dont know what to expect in Tokyo but in Paris she could be among serious medal contenders.

My guess Spain, France, Belgium, Serbia, Hungary, Russia.

Well, Romani did something extraordinary. Every 22.00+ result is fantastic, not to mention 22.50. How he improved to this level is another question, i hope that PS didnt have anything with that. I see some great results in shot put, Nigerian is also close to 22.00m.

I am not an expert but i believe that, with some restoration, we would have almost HD quality of almost all games. Just like we have Blu Ray 1080p of some 1920s film. I can understand why Warner Bros wont upload some classic movie, since there is always a chance to sell it. But what stops IOC or any other organisation from uploading old material remains a mistery for me.

I follow all your posts about replays, so i know about many of those events. I even watched some events. My focus are mainly OG. Beside that, every World Championships in every olympic sport, every ECh, PAG,Asian Games. And after that,MS events you mentioned. Your posts and links are very anticipated and i am grateful for them.

I cant even understand why FIFA wouldnt broadcast some old WC( from 60s,70s) or IOC some old OG ( if i remember Rome games were first broadcasted live). What would be a problem with that?

Then i will try watching them. Sad truth. I was watching Asian Games from Singapore (maybe 2010) and they deleted entire channel. Last good MS event i watched was Baku 2015. Every second broadcasted.

E kad je Ceska postala slabasna... a jeste. Ispale su nekada sjajne reprezentacije (Turska, Bjelorusija) a prosla recimo Crna Gora. Sve ovo do sada je u sustini samo olicenje zenske kosarke gdje se nista ne zna. Mi smo pod pritiskom, eventualni (daleko bilo) poraz bi nam donio borbu za 5 mjesto,tako da,iako smo jaci,moze da bude zeznuto.
