Im not the only one who notice that
Yeah, I don't know how other people rank and how they decide, but logically thinking, the disco music genre is one of those genres that are not known for huge variation, which is why many disco songs have a lot of things in common with each other. It's not insane to assume that if you liked Italy, you should have felt somewhat keen on Argentina as well. For me, personally, Argentina even had a bit more to offer in that regard.
It would've been okay if Argentina scored like less than Italy, but not by a 110 point margin. I can only assume that if this song was sent let's say by the French jury and it was in French, we'd have at least 80-100 points :/ Although we have a long history of songs in Spanish doing well too, so yeah, it's impossible to explain what goes on in the voting processes of all of the juries

One of the most 'interesting' entries for me was the Mexican one by the way. It started fantastically fun and after 20 seconds I was convinced it'd score high on my list, but then the singing started and was just a bit too 'flat' and repetitive for me (like it never really gets going, for my taste at least), whereas the fun first part never really came back later on
If they have more songs where that first part features more heavily, I'd love to hear them
Lol, this is actually insane how differently people perceive stuff
At the start, I thought that I would not like that song then it drew me in on second 40.

It's done and dusted now, congratulations to the winners and medalists.
Thank you for voting for Eley, it's always nice to see that someone liked it with some medals as well. I had a really tough time deciding what to send, because Lithuanian music lately is just on a different level
There's a lot that I wanted to show, but ultimately I decided that it would be fun to go with "Rock My Body". Me and my bff had a really good time working on this song together with Eglė (the vocalist). On Monday we're meeting in the studio to work on her newest song that I wrote a couple of weeks ago. It has some reaggeton and Spanish undertones, but perhaps the producer will decide to switch it up.

Thank you, I know you to like most of my entries
Lithuania on the other hand has hardly given points to Mexico, one of the few exceptions being the edition where they actually had Ximena Sariñana and Different as their top pick.
Well, this is the sixth time that I score Mexico. I guess it's a pretty good indication that I don't play favourites or favour any country in particular and I try to recognise a good product in most genres. It's always a mix of vocals, melody, production and lyrics for me. And as I'm diving deeper and exploring the world of producing now too, I started paying even more attention to more miniscule details, like vocal effects, specific sounds of percussions, mix & master etc.

The scoring of "What Was I Made For?" is very interesting to me. People either liked it a lot, or not at all it seems. I wasn't sure how it would play. Now I don't know how much insight I can glean from this from future contests.
I gave up on trying to logically understand anything here
There are two disco songs in this edition. One is trying to win the contest, the other is on the second half of the table
There was never any correlation in anything.

I don't think the movie is as popular outside the United States, and know Billie's style can be divisive.
I honestly never cared about the movie, but Billie Eilish is on my radar, amazing songwriter and performer

In about 15 minutes I'm going to head out to the first ever Lithuanian TISC representatives - Saulės Kliošas new EP album concert.

Won't be able to post my votes tonight (for the first time ever, I think). Life's so chaotic right now, forgot that TISC was today

I did another listening, fairly messed up my rankings, but I'll just have to deal with that this time.
One of the busiest TISC's for me this time around
-
My top twelve looks so WILD right now
Funnily enough, I don't think it will change much now even after two more listens.

The annual tends to be more "samey" with the songs, but this year does feel incredibly similar. There's maybe half dozen or a few more songs that stand out to me. Everything else is pretty much a blob.
Nice to know it wasn't only me that felt rather blob-ish when listening to the selection
I normally prefer the annual contest though, so this is a first for me, where I'm unimpressed by a huge percentage of entries.

All live on Eurovisionsport, before anyone asks.
Hopefully it won't be live on our national broadcaster... I've been blocked from watching international coverage nearly the entire season

First time Norway had 10th place as best performance over all womens races, relay included )?!
Swedes just like the rest of the season terrible shootinjg and decent skiing. Only saved by yesterdays relays where the others were even worse
Norwegian women collapse might never be explained. I thought they would possibly struggle with Roeiseland and Eckhoff retiring, but their women looked really on form at the start of the season. Tandrevold also had a history of brilliant results in Nove Mesto, which lead me to blow valuable points on her in the prediction contest I don't know what happened to them here, but the French seemed very ready to capitalise on that.

They didn't win three times in a row between 2015-2017 either That was Fourcade and Dorin-Habert/Dahlmeier heyday.
Feels like forever ago now with all three retired.

Can anybody do some research if it's the first time in like forever when Norway doesn't top the medal table?
-
Airinė Palšytė just jumped the highest that she has in I don't know how many years, to be frank
1.92 and qualification to the European Championships is secured.
Solid points for Olympic rating too.

Yup, 21 year old Mykolas Alekna just set a new WR in the Discus Throw
Don't know how to feel about this, would've been more special in a different location probably
