  15. At the Scottish world trials, both their Olympic teams lost, so it will be Bruce Mouat and Hannah Fleming's rinks that will be at Worlds. In fact, on women's side, only 3 2018 Olympic teams will be at Worlds (Gold medalists Sweden, Silver medalists South Korea, and Russia). Sweden and Italy's Olympic teams on the men's side will be at worlds, Japan and South Korea are yet to be decided
  16. Considering like 40 teams participated at last year's Mixed Doubles world championships, there are definitely enough competitive nations to warrant this, which is great for the sport of curling
  17. Well, it will be hard for Taftian sadly, his 10.22 last year was tied 16th amongst Asian athletes in 2017 (behind 8 Japanese, 3 Chinese, a Korean, a Bahraini, a Qatari, a Taiwanese, and tied with another Japanese) and also barely ahead of athletes from Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Oman, and Kazakhstan. It should be the best quality Asian field for sprints amongst actual Asians in quite some time
  18. Asian Games will be interesting this year in the sprints! Taftian will have to fight it out with the Chinese and Japanese guys and maybe some bought Qatar/Bahrain athletes. The Japanese guys in particular are very young and could dominate Asian sprinting in the years to come.
  19. The people who were expected to perform mostly haven't, and the people who weren't really expected to perform have
