  1. He was 24 flat like at 18 yo? Not shocking at all tbh, the guy is crazy talented.
  2. Another world record, but this one outside world championships...
  3. Maca Ceballos hit the OQT for Paris in the 100 BR! Also a SA record and qualified to the semis
  4. Récord sudamericano, clasificación a semis y marca A para Maca Ceballos en los 100 pecho del Mundial de Fukuoka con 1m06s69
  5. Everyone finished with a happy face except Carlitos, bad luck for him. It would have been cool if Pinot won, but with Pogi and Jonas going for it it was not going to happen. Two and two now, next year will be crazy if both come in top form.
  6. Anything besides team sports would be a surprise to me. 1. Women's hockey 2. Men's rugby 3. Men's hockey 4. Men's volleyball 5. Men's football (if qualified)
  7. Battle for 3rd will be interesting, maybe 2nd too if Pogi can't recover in the next days.
  8. What a beatdown. The tour is over if nothing crazy happens. I wonder if UAE throws the towel and puts the effort on securing Yates in the podium.
  9. I thought for a second that Vingegaard was going to let Pogacar take the bonus because if the motorbike wasn't there he doesn't catch him. But every second counts it seems. Tomorrow could be the decisive stage if one of them gets a good diference. If not, the time trial will be interesting.
  10. It ended up being a bit boring, huh? Tomororrow should start the fireworks
  11. She needs to swim relays to qualify for olympics and not depend on next year Worlds.
  12. Otoh, the expected comeback of Dressel was not good with a 29th place in the 100 FR. I guess the goal is Paris if he is on for it, but not so sure why is he racing here if he is not in good form.
  13. Milak won't swim at all after all due to lack of form. https://swimswam.com/kristof-milak-pulls-out-of-2023-world-championships-ive-hit-rock-bottom/
  14. I think experience prevails and McKeon wins the 100 FR and Titmus the 200 and 400. The rest about the same, the big if is Smith for me, not sure she will score her best when it matters. I trust Mckeown and McIntosh more tbh.
  15. No, she will focus on junior worlds and the Pan American Games.
  16. Confirmed team for world champs: Andrea Berrino, Macarena Ceballos, Florencia Perotti and Guido Buscaglia. Not even enough swimmers to have a relay The main goal of course are the Pan American Games, but Ceballos is having a nice season so maybe she can qualify to a semi, but not expecting anything tbh.
  17. You can believe whatever you want, but the numbers reflect that. The difference in views across tours is huge. We can discuss about the reasons behind it, though. I don't think is gender oriented, the womens game was more popular in the 90s and early 00s. I think is a combination of disparity between big established stars in both tours in the last few years and also poor management from the WTA. It has been revealed recently that most of the prize money in big tournaments outside slams to achieve "equality" is paid by the WTA itself. If you can't sell your product well you can't expect to get the same treatment. This is business.
  18. I checked to see if it was fake and as I expected it is... But only because the application to do it official was rejected
  19. I am a big WTA fan, but most people want to see men's tennis. That's just the reality. And the nature of bo5 and longer matches (on average) makes it an easier choice. The logic decision would be to put one match from each gender like the Us Open or Aus Open, but Mauresmo said they don't want to end the sessions too late past midnight. Also, Swiatek said she requested to play at daylight and Coco Gauff said that no one wants to play at night. When the two finalist from last year say that, there isn't a big incentive to put them at night.
  20. She hasn't broken WRs like McIntosh or Mckeown but Regan Smith iis the most on fire female swimmer this season. Clearly leaving Stanford to train with Bowman has paid off. The big if is her mental level in the big meets. 2019 was amazing, but had many dissapointments in the 2021 and 2022 big meets. We'll see this year. I think having so many events will lift the pressure as she won't have the focus on the back ones only.
  21. Guido Buscaglia rompió el récord de 50 libre de José Meolans de 2018 con 22s17. Todavía está lejos de una marca para los JJOO.
