My personal votes and thoughts - - 12 (One of the clearest winner picks for me. Great vocals, visuals, arrangement. Plus, the Maori segments are beautiful. @Wanderer) - 11 (This was the only other song considered for my 12 points. It caught my attention quickly as well. It stood out from everything else, and the lyrics were interesting @Vektor) - 10 (I think we might have some overlapping taste @Vic Liu. I liked the "throwback" nature of this song, and the lyrics/video were fun.) - 9 (Just a fun, catchy, lively song. A nice ode to one's homeland @kungshamra71) - 8 (I like the risk you took with this @hckošice. It has a great message and stood out from many of the other entires.) - 7 (This is similar to some music I listen to more frequently. There was just something about it that keep me thinking about it @Wumo) - 6 (A nice dance/party track. It got points for the integration of Maltese @Glen) - 5 (Eley has a really good vocal. I'll be interested to see how she does at Eurovision @NikolaB) - R3 (Great vocal, a nice country vibe. I just couldn't find room for it in my points @Fer GUA) - R4 (I couldn't find the translated lyrics, and that hurt your chances for points @justony. The song was interesting, but I couldn't undertsand the message.)

This was the first time that I didn't give points to any of the eventual medallists. New Zealand and Sweden were both among my reserves. I have never been as sure that a song is going to win, as I was with the Dutch entry this time. I'm very surprised it only got 10th place. As a whole, this was another fun experience and the fight for gold was thoroughly enjoyable. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you again in the next open contest this autumn!

Hello all! I'm Book. A long time fan of the Olympics but only recently started lurking on this forum, looking for qualification updates. Thought I'd pop in and start talking now, seems like a fun crowd. I'm from the US, born in Los Angeles and spent most of my life in Oregon, now living in Massachusetts. My first memories of sports was at a rec center built as part of a parks initiative of the 1984 games. After getting the Olympic bug in 2008 I convinced my parents to drive me up to Vancouver in 2010 where we stayed in Canada just long enough to see the first two heats of 2 man bobsleigh. I was luckily able to get some tickets to Football, Athletics, Rhythmic Gymnastics, and Modern Pentathlon for Paris, so my Olympic hype is at an all time high right now. Looking for some sport climbing tickets still. On the forum I hope to be a resident expert on US Track and Field trials and LA 2028 planning, anything Olympics on the US west coast I'll chat to anyone about.

I stopped following her songs some time ago so when i heard her voice and learned she had this new stuff, i knew this was gonna be one of my top 3. - 10 Such a powerful sound! - 9 The type of spanish music i like. It gave me so much vibes from early 2000s spanish music, which brings many happy memories from my teenage years there. - 8 This traditional songs are always gonna get points from me, 100% - 7 I could see this one in Eurovision - 6 As more as I hear this one, the better it gets. One of my favorites right now actually - 5 , - 4, Nothing to say about this ones, just sounded nice - 3 , Don't find it particularly special but the message of the lyrics is really great so had to have points - 2 Nothing to say again, just sounded nice - 1 I love this song, the artist, and the amazing message it gaves (just like the movie), but I usually try to never give any points to famous singers/songs, unless they are so good that it is impossible for me to do so, which is why I had reserved my "1 point" to this one. I really liked this edition though! Can't wait for the next one! Thanks to everyone who shared with all of us a bit of your country's music!

For two reasons: 1, For internal fairness. Imagine you are the champion of 59kg left unselected, but your teammate 49kg is merely a silver medalist but selected. You will definitely feel unfair and it’s not good for the team atmosphere. Real champions should always prioritize the selection regardless of rivals’ attendance. 2, You just never know if North Korea will successfully lobby IOC or IWF for a wild card, maybe only one category per gender. I personally think it possible. No one can guarantee anything until the OG begins.

just asking myself why in this competition are there people that already achieved the qualification (and therefore can't get any other quota place) and/or why tare there those mixed team events that don't award any quota place? nor those events award points for the OQR/WR, therefore are absolutely useless for those who are not in the hunt for a quota place and actually only make a lot of confusion

Before the action kicks off tomorrow, I thought I'd take a look at the individual track events to see if we are likely to see and changes as a result of Milton. Men's Team Pursuit: Confirmed Quotas: In my opinion, the Olympic field is set - China could spring a surprise and overtake Belgium, but the two teams have been equally matched across the season so it would seem to be unlikely. At a minimum, China need to finish at least 7th and hope that Belgium have an absolute nightmare in order for them to be in with any real chance. Men's Madison: Confirmed Quotas from Team Pursuit: Safe Individual Quotas: Contested Quotas: - 4750 - 4621 --------------- - 4398 All three are counting 2 NC events from 2024 and all have similar discard scores of 10th or 11th. It will be difficult for Switzerland to be able to do enough to overtake Czechia to get into the last quota spot - they'd need to finish at least 8th and keep 3 places between themselves and Czechia. That is something that they have not been able to do so far in the qualification window so it looks like both Austria and Czechia should qualify for Paris. Men's Omnium: Confirmed Quotas from Team Pursuit: Expected Quotas from Madison: Safe Individual Quotas: Continental Quota: Contested Quotas: - 1432 - 1394 --------------- - 1231 - 1189 There is potential for change in the final quotas in this event. Colombia should be safe as they have only competed in 2 NC events across the last 2 years whereas Indonesia is already counting their two 2024 NC events. Kazakhstan will need to finish higher than 16th to be able to overtake Indonesia. Hong Kong may have left themselves with too much to do after their poor result in the 2nd leg of last year's NC. For the continental quota, Egypt will be safe by virtue of the fact that South Africa are not competing in Milton despite being just 40 points off the quota. If I was a betting man, I'd say that Colombia and Kazakhstan will likely take the last 2 quotas for the men's endurance events.
