  2. First case of corona virus has been confirmed in Ireland. The department of health has just announced it and said the man traveled home from northern Italy. Well that's Ireland finally on the board... was beginning to feel like Eurovision and waiting for our first point

  3. Thankfully no problems. People seemed to think it was odd that a 19 year old in a climbing gym shirt was accredited for this event Gym is by far the largest I’ve been in. Really impressive facilities. There’s a actually a good crowd already hanging out about and hour and a half before the Speed comp. The venue is quite literally next door to LAX, so if someone does have Coronavirus, we can ship their ass off

  4. Alrighty, I’m en route to the venue. I should get there a bit before the scheduled start of Speed. Hopefully, I’ll be able to bring y’all good coverage. If I’m able to, I be “live tweeting” from my personal Twitter or Totallympics Media Twitter.

and Taliban still doesn't recognize the government of Afghanistan. and they don't talk to the government as they still consider it "USA's puppet" ! it's still hard to think how peace is possible this way. they may make peace with USA but not with Afghanistan people. as we share the same language I was following the social media today and people in Afghanistan are mostly worried about this "peace deal" they think Taliban just wants its prisoners released and when American troops (or some of them) withdraw they will start again. btw Taliban can't be "part" of the government, because they want it all.

  12. Got to speak with the IFSC Communications Director. I’m literally completely out of my league right now. Now, we just sitting across from each doing work. The perks of putting in hours of effort into building a good media organization I suppose. I’m so happy that I get this privilege, and I get to share it with all of you. Remember, updates will most likely be on my personal Twitter (scores, personal observations, comments).

  14. well it's a complicated situation, if I was from Afghanistan I wouldn't want American troops in my country at all. but then I also would't want Taliban ! Taliban is not a political party that you can make "peace" with them by giving them some power. they don't believe in women's rights and this is not something they negotiate about. I was just listening to one of Taliban's leader in Doha and they don't even call the Afghan government as "government" they call it "Kabul's ruler" or something like that. they were really happy after the deal, they think they won. well I think we will see after a year who is the real winner here. I just wish the best of luck for the people of Afghanistan, I know they suffered a lot. I know they badly want peace, but they also don't want Taliban.

  15. yes, he was born there while his parents were serving as missionaries... the whole family moved back to the USA only when he was 3 years young... therefore, because he was born in the Philippines, he could easily get the local citizenship and play for them in the international sport events...

  16. I really don’t get canceling any of these sports events (except in “epicenters” of the disease). This is so similar to the common flu, and yet we don’t go around cancelling events for that. Malaria kills more people yearly than either of those two, and yet events still take place in Africa in those areas.

  17. Tim Tebow will play the qualifiers for the Phillipines. He's a former NFL quarterback, where he scored 17 touchdown passes and 12 touchdown rushes, but also 9 interceptions and 6 fumbles lost. Since 2016 he plays baseball. In 2018 he batted .273 at the AA Eastern League, but in 2019 he batted .163 at the AAA International League.

  19. 2nd day review Men's Kata we knew about , now Mattia Busato is also qualified which means the end of qualification in this event. Men's 84kg Ugur Aktas guaranteed an Olympic spot today, Ivan Kvesic also made sure he will be 3rd in the final ranking. he can't go up or down, it's not in his hands anymore. ironically it's better for him to lose the final to Aktas ! he needs some help from Aktas and also another Iranian Ganjzadeh at +84kg Men's +84kg 3 athletes left for 2 quotas, Ganjzadeh, Horne and Arkania. none of them made it to the final and only Arkania will be in bronze medal match. Ganjzadeh will have something like 1500pts advantage over both Horne and Arkania which means he will have a good chance to finish 1st, still that won't be enough if Poursheib tops 84kg. Arkania is also closing the gap with Horne, in case Ganjzadeh qualifies, Arkania needs to beat Horne to qualify himself. complicated situation for all 5 athletes involved ! Women's 61kg it was a big day for Coban and Jumaa the both made it to the final, Merve Coban is very close to qualify now. Haya Jumaa also moved up the ranking, if she wins the gold she will be next to Prekovic. but since there will be 1 more event for the Europeans, Coban and Prekovic are still big favorites for the quotas to join and . there is still slim chance for Alipour and two French girls. Women's 68kg we knew is already qualified, Gong Li and Feryal made it to the final only 100 pts separate these 2 girls, so whoever wins the gold tomorrow will be in 2nd place . that final can act like a direct Olympic qualification at the end of the day. there is still chance for Quirici (and also very slim chance for Semeraro) Women's +68kg It was a great day for Hamided Abbasali, she is not mathematically qualified yet but I can say it's 95% safe for her, she will qualify if she wins the gold tomorrow. but after her there is a close battle between Berultseva, Ferracuti, Hocaoglu and Chatziliadou. right now Berultseva is leading and she can add more points if she wins the bronze tomorrow but all other girls are European and have one more chance. Ferracuti is in the final and winning the gold will be very important for her. but still less than 400pts separate those 4 girls.

  22. The United States and the Taliban have signed a peace deal after 18 years of war (almost my entire lifetime, I’ve never known a time that our soldiers weren’t fighting in Afghanistan). There were 26 countries as witnesses, including the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. The peace deal terms are: Afghanistan (and the Taliban) must not allowed terrorist groups to take root. There must be dialogue now between the different fractions of Afghanistan. The US will move towards withdrawing all troops. Permanent ceasefire.

  25. Yeah, you are spot on here. For that reason I have been pretty much avoiding all her interviews for years now, and I stumbled onto this one quite by accident. I can remember another one from 2014. She had a total train wreck in Aachen, having made mistake after mistake after mistake. She still scored in mid 70s and finished 7th or something (lesser known rider would have scored 64% for such test). And then in the interview afterwards she said something like: "Nobody expected me to lose."

  28. actually I think that was the right decision. first Pakistan has no "real control" over its borders, if someone really wants to cross the border he does. better let people do it legally and at least monitor them to see if they are infected or not. beside that, I'm quite sure almost nobody from Iran travels to Pakistan, it's not like Turkey or Iraq where people have business there or travel for holidays, even Afghanistan has lots of cultural similarities with Iran, but Pakistan ? no way. all of those guys were Pakistanis in Iran and after all Pakistan had to let its own citizens in.

The first team in Women's basketball in Serbia, they will come back 1st March. Also, lots of people ask government to quarantine all passengers from Korea regardless of nationalities to prevent imported cases.

  44. The postponement of the HK tournament will probably change the shape of this qualifier ... Japan though didn't seem imperial, as one could have expected them to be, given their (unfair) extra World Series experience and their roster. The fact that the qualifier will now take place AFTER the Olympics could even strengthen the chances of their opponents, since their main target will be done by HK and considering how the Japanese program have been erratic these past four years ... HK staying true to themselves, not very impressive but always in the last four, still lacking a tiny bit of something to get the win. Germany in the same vein : strong, physical, powerful, athletic ... you get it, not the most beautiful team but surely pragmatic ... well, German Could be the favorites this time. Chile and Uruguay my favorite sides, a fierce defense combined to a tonic attack, benefiting from their home support this time around. Tonga close to the Samoan model, solid team but they have not yet performed as we could expect them to ... And finally Uganda and Zimbabwe , two athletic squads but much like PNG they lack some control over essential matters, especially Uganda which nearly lose all their line-outs ... crucial in this game.

  45. Dujardin continues to be as arrogant as ever it seems. Apparently, while in Amsterdam, she met the same steward who eliminated her at last year's European Championships. Only this time they hugged (as you do?). Not only that, but Dujardin also claims that the steward felt bad for eliminating her (for, you know, finding bloody spur marks on her horse). Yeah, I'm sure the steward felt TERRIBLE for doing her job, following the regulations and putting animal welfare first. This is all a very convenient hearsay, ofc. But also very much in line with Dujardin's behaviour over the years...
