  1. do you mean that the virus was spread around by those golfers who need an excuse to pull out of the Olympic tournament?

  3. It's mind blowing that Serbia couldn't get into the Top4 at the WCh and ECh before the Olympics. I know that they might not be taking these tournaments seriously, but still...

  8. it's already officially certified that this virus spreads through contact (through saliva, to be precise)... and we have already quite a few cases in Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong, Macao, other SEA Nations and the USA...it's only a matter of time that all this becomes pandemic... in China there are at least 9 deceased and hundreds of sick people (officially, probably there are a lot more)... they would be absolutely irresponsible if they don't cancel that tournament and reschedule it far away from those places (once in a lifetime, in this case Qatar or UAE would be a good choice)...

  11. I watched some goals and I'm pretty sure the bolivian players don't have anyone above 170cm in the team. And since this is a round robin they still have to play Brazil... Btw there was a big upset, Uruguay defeated Chile! Both will likely qualify anyway.

  18. Iran is ok as long as they win the 4 games, even as 2nd placer. But yes, now it's "match point" against. Saudi Arabia survived today with those vital 3 points. UAE would be out already in most other groups, but the ASEAN teams are so close each other in level that still survival is possible.

  20. no. I don't think the casualty was that high in Iraq-Kuwait war. which was very quick. I'm talking about 8 years of war between Iran and Iraq with almost a million people losing their lives (for no reason).

  21. This Shia-Sunni thing is mostly made by western media. I never fell such enmity at all just because of that. and beside that the majority of people in Iraq are Shia. the problem is that city of Basra was invaded by Iran not long ago. it's like Iraq playing in Khorramshahr, or Ghasre-Shirin or Sardasht. (where Saddam's army invaded and killed hundreds of people) of course people won't forget these things easily. of course after something like 30 years, there is no hatred in general , no at all . something like a million Iranians are already in Iraq for a religious thing these days but people who live in those cities directly involved in the war and lost their family still very well remember that. specially nowadays Iran isn't that popular in Iraq because of meddling in their local businesses.

  23. It’s a political facade. The hardliners can say it’s for religious interests, while it just exists to subjugate part of the population. It causes gender tensions and focus people to focus on issues rather than the extremist government and their heavy handed policies.

  25. That was a dive. it was justice missing that penalty today we had seed 1 hosting seed 5 in each group. we had lots of "interesting" results because of that 14-0 is the worst result of Cambodia history and 3rd best result of Iran. also the 3rd time in history Iran scoring double digit. but this match was special for another reason, (anybody who doesn't know just google Iran Cambodia) probably that was the reason our players were motivated till the last minute and scored as many goal as possible.

  26. Damn, what results today in Asia: Australia 5-0 Nepal, Japan 6 - 0 Mongolia, China 7 - 0 Guam, South Korea 8 - 0 Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan 5 - 0 Yemen and wow Iran 12 - 0 Cambodia in 70th minuteCambodia missed a penalty

  32. it seems FIFA didn't approve Iraq to host its home matches, I read different news about it. first says they just can't host it in Basra, 2nd says they can't host at all and it seems Iraq Football federation threatened to withdraw. this is kind of interesting because right now Iraq is hosting the West Asian Championship !! personally I believe Iraq deserves to host if they can guarantee safety. I just don't think Iran playing in Basra is a good idea. they can play anywhere in Iraq, just not Basra. that will be dangerous for our players. Basra was battleground during the Iran-Iraq war not long ago.

  33. yeah I know but the word Persia is confusing, as it confused some of you guys here already Persia/Persian is the name for the country, the race and the language !!! but ironically the word "Persian" is not Persian . it's English and it probably comes from "Parsi" which is the old version of Farsi. we call the language "Farsi" and the race as just "Fars" and as I said the name Persia for the country is a bit problematic. other races here don't prefer to use that word for the whole country. for example when they picked the slogan "Princes of Persia" for our football NT for one of the World Cups (2014 if I'm not wrong), some people here didn't like it AT ALL. PS: by using an example from previous World Cups I just tried to make it a bit on-topic

  34. So how do people in Iran call their own country? Because I'm completely lost now
    1 point
  35. Farsi = Persian . this is amazing people don't know that. Farsi is the Persian word for "Persian" in Iran ! we don't use the word Persian or Persia in Iran, in Kabul they call it something else but it's exactly the same. there are other languages in Afghanistan too. same as Iran, half of Iran population speak a second language (Turkish/Azeri, Arabic, Kurdish, Turkmen, etc) of course there are small differences, some common words in Iran are different in Afghanistan. (and Tajikistan, they also speak Persian)

  39. we got "lucky" once again in the draw. we got Iraq (the best team in pot 2) and Bahrain (best team in pot 3), only Hong Kong and Cambodia are easy. we could get Kuwait for example. Iraq is always the toughest opponent for Iran , they play against Iran like their lives are depend on that. and Bahrain !? our worst football memory came from Bahrain.and the last time we played in Manama it was hostile situation and we only survived by a last minute goal . our new coach will be tested very soon , this first round won't be easy for Iran. have to be careful.

  46. Still not fair, all teams should have a chance to qualify directly. Have the top 3-5 advance directly to the hex while the other teams fight for the remaining spots.
