if you check the results in poomsae World Champs. they have it for different age categories. technically there is no open age event ! even at the Asian Games it was open to athletes from 18 to 30 ! this is how they created Poomsae in first place. training poomsae is good for health but it's terrible to watch2 points

Actually 2 extra points that one gets after taking the average of 5 best of last 6 international events has put Anjum close to a point ahead of Ela as of now. That looks a bit flawed clause in the policy. Also they did not count for world cup finals where Ela did so well. As a result, as of now Ela is much behind Anjum and will need to shot 4 or 5 points better than Anjum in Delhi world cup to overcome that close to 1 point deficit. That looks really difficult. So, if NRAI strictly adheres to the policy, Apurvi and Anjum are most likely to go. But, there is a clause that NRAI can make the changes in national interest. So, if NRAI considered current form as the criteria for that change, then there is a chance for Ela but NRAI has not done that in the past.1 point

We cannot get reallocation quotas. From the qualification document: Anish can win the World Ranking quota. That quota is not allocated to NRAI but to Anish. So, no swap or changing the athlete. Apart from Anish, as I have said multiple times, there is a very very small chance for Kynan to get a WR quota. No one else has any chance to win any more quotas. Regarding swaps, we can swap maximum 1 quota and that swap has to be in the same gender. Practically speaking, we have extra quota in Pistol women with Manu starting in both events. So, it is logical to swap Chinki's quota. Now that swap could either be for 50x3 or Shotgun. (We have full quotas in the rest). Decision regarding swap depends on selection of 10m Air Rifle. If Anjum qualifies ahead in 10m, then she will easily start in 50x3 as well, so only logical swap is in Shotgun. But if Elavenil pips Anjum, we can swap Chinki's quota for Anjum in 50x3. Regarding team selection: Anyone interested can read the selection policy of NRAI here. Basically, instead of having one single selection trial, selection would be based on the average of the scores across various competitions and selection trials, with bonus points for Medals/Finals, World Records and Higher Rankings. Quota winners also get bonus points. At present it is very close between Anjum, Apurvi and Elavenil. Mehuli is losing out because she can't get any bonus points as she has been shooting in MQS category.1 point -

oh, yes! so, quick update...both marathons finally will have less starters than BMX freestyle competitions... p.s. by the way, when I wrote about Kenian, Ethiopian (and I should add the new powerhouse, Uganda) cheaters, most of them are those implicated with the shady doctors from the Mediterranean Sea... so, they were already somehow mentioned (even if not explicitly)...1 point -
Luge FIL World Cup 2019 - 2020
Monzanator reacted to phelps for a topic
it's mainly because FIL has an agreement with the Igls officials to act as "international luge school" and home of their own "development program" for small/non-luge Countries (like the Aigle velodrome in Switzerland in track cycling)... of course, Igls has been chosen because a) they agreed on that and b) because it's an "easy" track...surely they couldn't use tracks like Lake Placid, Park City or Sigulda to play that role (unless you want to read about severe injuries almost once every day)... p.s. a short track to start a few more very young guys to the art of artificial luge is a great investment, not a waste of funds (especially if Natural Track Luge becomes an Olympic sport and the Austrian Artificial Luge team loses an enormous source of recruiting, as NTL is nowadays)... it's more the cost of mantaining that track...which is the main reason the Cesana track was dismantled and the reason why Cortina didn't make any refurbishing for years until they were forced to close everything down...nobody wanted to pay for those (very high) maintainance and "updating" costs, once the building was put in place... hopefully, now they've reached an agreement on this question that should keep the new Cortina track working for at least 25 years after the end of the 2026 Olympics (p.s. knowing what Italian politicians say and do, I don't trust them until we get to 2051 and see the track still used for major competitions in that year )...1 point -

Some news from ODECABE - CACSO: The first edition of the Central American and Caribbean Beach Games is going to be held in 2021, with Santa Marta being the only bidder so far. The "Centennial" edition of the Central American and Caribbean Games in 2026 is likely to be awarded to León ; they probably will use the velodrome in Aguascalientes for track cycling and held other distribute other disciplines in other cities, all located 2 hours or less from the main host; beach events are likely to be held in Puerto Vallarta or Manzanillo, which are the closest sites. Three more sports were added to the 2022 sports program of the Games: Bodybuilding , Surfing and Netball, which was likely the input of the English Caribbean countries.1 point

Well, Stenmark's overall record looks totally in the gutter too. Shiffrin's immediate competition is nothing compared to what Vonn had to face with Riesch, Maze, Fenninger or even Gut. I mean Vlhova has made it up to #2 but then we have choker Holdener and who else? Nobody. We have girls starting in the top group that haven't even scored a single WC podium yet.1 point -

Not on the women's side which used to be more dominated by Germans. I still remember Neuner & Tagwerker. They were more of a threat than anyone Austria has right now. Hannah Prock is a total waste of time. Demchenko's daughter makes her look like a complete fraud. I can't decide which offspring is worse, Hannah Prock in luge or Nina Ortlieb in alpine skiing.1 point -

Men's Basketball FIBA Olympic Games Qualification Tournament 2021
George_D reacted to OlympicsFan for a topic
Very good draw for Germany. They should field the strongest team in their tournament (especially with Wagner, Bonga and Hartenstein all being one year older), but if they underperform like they did this year, then every other team can beat them. Serbia should be safe (although Italy also has a pretty good team), in tournament B it could be close between Lithuania and Slovenia (but only if Doncic will play). Tournament D is absolutely brutal, Greece and Canada (if they play with their best team) would have been favorites in all other tournaments except for tournament A and Turkey also has a decent team (at least on paper). In my opinion Canada clearly has the 2nd best guard rotation in the world (only behind the US), but their big man situation looks pretty dire, maybe Greece (Giannis) can hurt them there, but Giannis hasn't been spectacular at FIBA level and Milwaukee is very likely to go far in the postseason, so if Canada will play with at least 2 or 3 of their top guards (Alexander-Walker, Murray, RJ, Gilgeous-Alexander, Lyles, Wiggins) they should win their tournament. Only Murray should go far in the postseason, so all the other guys probably will have no excuse to not participate. I would say tournament C is by far the most unpredictable, at least 4 teams could win that tournament.1 point -

Fun little announcement. We have decided to try something just a bit different to distinguish ourselves from the likes of Inside the Games. I hope you guys end up liking our two new weekly series of articles. The first series will be authored by the international man of mystery that is @Dragon. His series will cover a historical event in international sports for the week. The first article is available here: https://games24.totallympics.com/?p=1060 The second series is one of mine own creation. I think the idea still has a bit a tweaking to be done, but it writing it, so expect to see more . My series will essentially just be articles filled with random facts, sometimes themed after Dragon’s articles, and sometimes not. The first article can be read here: https://games24.totallympics.com/?p=10671 point -
