  1. It's time for FIBA to just cancel the WR qualification and let 6 or 7 teams qualify from the QT depending on which host team gets the automatic quota.

  2. I already wrote many very long pamphletes against all the "judged sports" at the Olympics... but in some cases, like Artistic Swimming, Rhythmic Gymnastics, those freestyle freaks and above all breakdance, to me they are just NOT sports at all...they are just entertaining shows which have nothing to do with real competition (which to me it's almost only man vs man or man vs time)... Olympic Motto is "Altius, Citius, Fortius"...and those activities don't match any of these criteria to elect their "champions", therefore they shouldn't even be recognized as true sports by the IOC... that's my point of view about this question (to make it short...don't want to get anybody "bored to death" )... obviously, I don't expect everybody to agree with me, but at the same time, it would take a miracle to make me change my mind on that...

  3. Dominik Dziuda is another great talent from Maciej Gałowski's stable. If the boy doesn't mess up his mind, in a few years he will be the second world champion in karate, who trained at Olimp Lodz. Doraw Banaszczyk is the only hope to show his skills at tatami in Tokyo. Gawłowski knows his training.

  4. Nah, this is just some ultra nationalistic crap of some morons on both sides easily manipulated and stimulated by stupid politicians, normal peoples don´t give two shits about things that happened more than a freaking century ago anymore...

  7. surprise surprise, Bahrain just beat Qatar to face South Korea in the final. Bahrain played great from start to finish and if it wasn't for some miraculous saves from Qatar GK Saric the gap could be 7-8 goals. well I guess it was just our bad luck Bahrain had a bad day against South Korea to eliminate Iran (folks here think Bahrain lost intentionally which is nonsense I watched the match) and that big mistake from the refs in IRN-KUW match also changed lots of things here, they did a favor to all those teams in intercontinental Qualification group by letting Qatar and Bahrain play in the semifinal and not the final. I'm sure in Asia only Bahrain can beat Qatar, they are just a bad matchup for Qatar. Bahrain-Korea will be close but I think Bahrain will win this time. and special thanks to whoever made the seeding for the draw, Qatar and KSA only had to beat Hong Kong and India in the group round !!!

  12. Like so many sports, speed skating really doesn't need a mixed relay. Or in this case it doesn't even need a relay at all. There's already the team pursuit and the bullshit team sprint.

  13. Not about qualified nations but Myanmar has the potential to qualify in badminton. Their best player, Thet Htar Thuzar, is currently 46th in women's singles Olympic ranking and that means she is holding the 27th spot (from provisional 34) as of this week. If she can keep her performance for another 6 month, she can easily qualify.

  14. PUERTO RICO Puerto Rico's pick for the Festival of Music is Tomy Torres, born in San Juan in 1971. Though better known to the world for his roles as writer and producer of Spanish language artists, such as Ricky Martin, Ricardo Arjona and Alejandro Sanz, which have earned several Grammy and Latin Grammy Awards, he also has ventured as a singer, like with his 2008 album "Tarde o temprano", from which the homonym single was released to great succes not only in his homeland, but also in countries all across Latin American.
