  7. Ok. So after a couple of minutes I think I am now back to my normal heart bite This was one hell of a match. With everything, totally bad defense, plenty of goals, some more and some less controversial calls (but this happen in almost every matches so...I´mnot going to blame everything on the referees...yeah, but still that call for Černák wasn´t really something so extreme to call it 1 and half minute to go in a so important match at such tense score, because there were also some other maybe bigger fauls during the match that wasn´t even noticed...but, yeah, as I said, let it be, we know the refs sucks everywhere ) Let search for positives, even if this defeat is really but really hard and will take some time (if even) to swallow...so the first positive, we scored 5 goals to Canada lol, this is really unbelievable, but it happened for the first time in hoistory we scored more than 4 goals to Canada...and we still lost Interesting is that before the tourney our biggest force was the defence, especially the penalty killing, where we were arguably one of the best in the world, but we had huge troubles in offensive side, our shooting efficiency was so miserable, that we were affraid if we´ll be able to score more than 1-2 goals per match...but now lol, itś the absolute opposite, we scored 11 goals in 3 games against all big favorites of our group but man we really suck in PK it looks like every penalty for us finish by a conceded goal lol.. Now, let´s hope our team staff will be able to recover and rise the heads up of our players, because yes we lost and in a very cruel way, but the tournament is still long, we played all favorites of our group, now we still have 4 games to play, and now we will be the favorites, so we will need to be mentally strong and fly on the ice like we did in these three games. And PS.: I am (and I´m not alone) absolutely disgusted by the behavior of some fans after the game, trust me, this wasn´t representative of all Slovak Hockey fans (I even suspect it was some football fans actually). I want to present all sincere appologize to my Canadian friends on this forum for the absolutely inadmissible booing during the anthem. Our players and commentators already made it too in our TV. I assure you it was only aminority of total idiots who did that. Our normal fans are really happy that we can host this amazing festival and congratulate to Canada for the win and thanks for the match guys. we love you

  16. naaaa...trying to talk about hockey here in Italy would lead you directly to the mental care pavillion of the nearest hospital... better not take that risk... jokes aside, today he's been fantastic, but once again the rest of team did show that this is not our level of hockey...we're just not good enough under every single aspect of the game: skating speed, skating skills, individual technical skills, attitude, physical conditioning and strenght...this time, we don't even have a decent tactical plan (basically the only thing we have always had in the past)... it's just 5 guys at a time skating around in a total mess without having any idea of what they should do as a group... it's so depressing and frustrating...as an Italian hockey fan, it's almost impossible to me to describe with words how I feel when I watch our Blue Team in the most recent years (and this year in particular, of course)...

What a shame this guy is almost unknown in his own country, he should be a real national sports hero, He is just above level for so many years and brought so much to Italy and Italian Hockey. maybe our Italian friends can start to share infos about him to make him more famous and popular because he deserves it. @phelps @Gianlu33 @Dunadan @SteveParker @Pablita @Henry_Leon @Sindo

  19. I though you never had any sort of interest in F1 One can discuss whether it's a good track in terms of racing, but I definitely love the entire 'atmosphere' around the track. The dunes, the pictures so close to the sea (you leave the parking lot and are on the beach @hckosice ), it's just beautiful. I just hope the dunes won't be thrown down and replaced with grandstands, the dunes are part of what makes Zandvoort unique

  21. Pretty excited about the tournament, so sad and angry about what has been done to Iranian team. Politics should not interfere with the sports. I hope this problem will be solved and Iranian team will take their rightful place in the tournament. About our team, I believe we have a good chance of winning medals almost every weight in women. However our men team has been lacking for a long time now. Emre Kutalmış (only 18 years old) is a hope for us alongside with Hakan Reçber. I think it is gonna be a great tournament with the competition and the exciting nature of taekwondo.

  24. Trouble in the Dutch men's league Sunday, 5th and deciding match of the final between reigning champion Lycurgus of Groningen and challengers Orion of Doetinchem. Lycurgus won the first two sets and at 25-24 an ace gave them the title.....until the referee decided the ball was out Not sure if the video works outside the Netherlands: https://www.dvhn.nl/sport/Volleybalbond-erkent-foute-beslissing-arbitrage-in-kampioensduel-Lycurgus-tegen-Orion-24451346.html Orion got the point, 25-25, and went on to hold on against 4 more match points in the same set, before turning it around and taking the win and the title in 14-16 final set. The Dutch federation has now said the referee's decision on match point was indeed wrong, but there is 0 chance of any replay.

    [OFF TOPIC] Politics Thread

In India, we have 7 national parties (parties who have won a minimum number of votes/seats in atleast 4 different states), around 50 state parties which are confined to a state or two. Apart from these, there are another 50 odd parties which contest polls regularly but are unable to meet the minimum requirements. And after that we have 1000+ parties which are registered but don't contest polls regularly. And at the time of elections, apart from all these parties, we have a large number of independents contesting as well.

  34. also 2 Egyptian athletes couldn't get VISA until now and they're not even existing in the athletes' list published on WT site , Mohamed Ayman in +87 kg and Ahmed Wael in -63

  35. as of now, 3 athletes are still without visa, Armin Hadipour received his visa Tuesday evening and will fly to UK tomorrow in the morning. he will arrive in the location couple hours before the weight-in. (what he will do in the competition after being under huge stress for 2-3 days and not sleeping well two nights before the competition is another question) but it seems Mirhashem Hosseini is going to miss the competition he has to be in Manchester tomorrow afternoon for the weight-in and still no visa for him. and the last flight from Tehran to UK before the weight-in is 5 in the morning. soooo only couple hours left. two more are still in Tehran Sajjad Mardani and Erfan Nazemi. women's team had no problem getting visa, and for the men's team, which is very young this time, only 3 of them had been to World Championships before, and these 3 are our only chances in the ranking to qualify for the Olympics, they had been to Manchester only few months ago for the World Grand Prix and all 3 of them finished on the podium. and surprisingly all 3 of them (plus another one Nazemi) denied visa in 1st and 2nd try. just a co-incidence ? PS: from what I heard the whole Armenian team also denied visa Iran's ambassador in UK is still hopeful

  37. One day before the competition, half of the Iranian team are still in Tehran and still without visa. this is funny that almost all of our top athletes (and not the youngsters) denied visa , Hadipour, Mardani and Hosseini they are all former world medalists, top 10 in World Ranking and had been to UK so many times before (the last time few months ago for the Grand Prix). I can't see any logical reason denying or delaying their visa . I hope they get the visa in time but mostly I blame our own federations for not doing anything about it. Sending the whole team together (and not in pieces like this) or nobody at all.
