  3. First time winners: Alexandr Loginov (26yo), Quentin Fillon-Mallet (26yo), Yullia Dzhyma (28yo), Marte Olsbu Roiselend (28yo), and then Vittozzi at 23, Preuss at 24 and Davidova at 22. Biathlon is a sport with a lot of psychology which tends to benefit some of the more mature athletes and sometimes raw talent does not even translate into good results. And if we're going to bring into the discussion how many athletes missed out on medals due to a missed shot, we might as well count all of the people that "nearly won" the individual race if not for a single missed shot.

  10. yes, unfortunately it's all true... the final plan presented a couple of weeks ago to the IOC has the following locations: Opening Ceremony: Giuseppe Meazza (AKA San Siro) Stadium in Milan Closing Ceremony: Arena Scaligera in Verona...but the IOC is objecting that it's too small and therefore there are plan B -Arena Napoleonica in Milan (which would take a major renovation and above all, a very difficult renovation, as there are a lot of laws protecting it, being an 18th Century monument) and plan C -San Siro Stadium once again (but the organizers say it's too big for the closing act)...so, this is still to be negotiated... Men's Alpine Skiing: Bormio Women's Alpine Skiing: Cortina Sliding Sports: Cortina Curling: Cortina Snowboard & Freestyle: all in Livigno Biathlon: Anterselva (Antholz) Nordic Skiing & Ski Jumping: Lago di Tesero (Val di Fiemme) & Predazzo (just to use only already existing world class venues) Speedskating: Baselga di Pinè (with the Ice Rink becoming a modern indoor arena, which probably would happen in any case, since the Italian federation does need an indoor rink as the National Training Center) Figure Skating & Short Track Speedskating: Milan (the already existing Forum Milanofiori, which hosted the 2018 figure skating world champs) Ice Hockey: Milan (2 different arenas, 1 still to be built and 1 already existing as a indoor sports hall, but to be deeply renovated to implement the ice surface) that's what's been announced...but I'm pretty sure that with our politicians and sports officials any change is still possible (especially those which could make money end up in their pockets instead of paying for the venues' works )...

  18. The link to this article is:http://www.aiyuke.com/news/2019/02/n108f9d86a34.html The content of the article is roughly the same: two weeks ago, the Danish Badminton Association finally signed a collective agreement with the players, and Axelsen, Antonsson, Anders/Sorrensen returned to the Danish national team. Happy, but the female single player Mia was isolated by her teammates. Because when everyone collectively boycotted the Danish Badminton Association, only Mia chose to compromise and signed a personal agreement with the Danish Badminton Association in advance. Although everyone is returning to the national team today, Mia feels that everyone is looking at her with "colored glasses." Recently, the Danish badminton team is participating in the European Badminton Mixed Team Championship. Mia believes that the mood of the team is a bit different from the previous ones. Some teammates are not waiting to see Mia. Mia said that she didn't want to spend energy to think about these bad things. She would normally say hello to her teammates as before, but it would be their business.

  19. Not everyone develops at the same time and not everyone starts winning at freakin' 21... Just because one junior is starting to have solid results, does not mean that others that have been on par with her at junior level, will immediately excel in the senior level, because that's a totally different game.

  21. I agree, Hirscher overall is dominant but it always seems like he is on the absolute limit while Shiffrin usually looks completley at ease. Also, Hirscher has completely dominant races more rarely than Shiffrin and gets beaten quite a bit more often (I'm talking about Slalom here, things are different in gs) and at the same time if Hirscher gets beaten in the first run the 2nd is almost always a huge spectacle and you just gotta love that. Aside from Hirscher and Shiffrin the thing which to me is actually much more important is that currently the depth in men's slalom skiing is enormous. I mean, which female skiers can realistically win a medal? Shiffrin, Vlhova, Holdener, Hansdotter, Swenn Larsson, Liensberger, maybe Schild. It often feels like even if the skiers I didn't mention have a dream run, they are gonna get beaten anyway because the ones I listed are simply so much better skiers. On the men's side I don't have that feeling. The likelihood of a Croatian winning a medal isn't high but I wouldn't completely rule it out that one of them has a dream run and has his big breakthrough. It's just that this is the case for pretty much everyone in the top 30 who hasn't had his breakthrough already. Everyone is capable of beating everyone and that's really exciting.
