I suggest cutting nothing. What's the real difference between having 10,500 and 11,000 athletes? That's just IOC going for most obvious (though not really) budget cut solution.4 points

This crazy idea about merging freestyle and GR comes from lack of knowledge about the sport. yeah they "look" similar if you just watch one match in 4 years. but in past 50 years only one wrestler managed to win medal in both styles in major competitions and that wasn't at the Olympics. and that was a special case in super heavyweight. yeah there are some wrestlers switch their styles early in their career when they are teenager but it's not like you easily can switch style whenever you want. how many swimmers win medal in different styles ? freestyle and butterfly for example ? they look very similar to me. since we are all free to have crazy idea. let's drop the boring/predictable Swimming. we will have lots of spots to add multiple new sports.4 points

I'm actually fine with it for a relay-only event like the World Relays, as long as they don't try and put stuff like a 2x4x3,5x236m hurdlesx562m on the Olympic program.2 points

Two new events have been added to IAAF World Relay programme. A mixed 2x2x400m relay and mixed shuttle hurdles relay. The mixed 2x2x400m, a form of an endurance relay event, requires both members of the team to run two 400m legs of a relay. Each team can choose to start with a man or the woman. The athletes then take it in turns to run their two legs of the relay. Inspired by a mixed relay event introduced to biathlon in recent years, the 2x2x400m replaces the 4x800m relay, which proved to have limited appeal at previous editions of the World Relays. The men will run 110m hurdles in one direction and will then hand over to the first woman on the team, who will run back up the straight to hand over to the second man, and so on. To account for the extra distance, women will run out an extra 10 metres at the end of their leg. https://www.iaaf.org/news/press-release/world-relays-2019-shuttle-hurdles-2x2x4001 point

Sports Television Broadcasting Rights
De_Gambassi reacted to hckošice for a topic
it´s quite good, their public channel ČT Sport works very well on 24h basis and show pretty well everything from the most important sports events also they have a lot of domestic sport covering. it´s a bit worse, our national public broadcaster had also a dedicated 24h per day sport channel RTVS 3, that started the opening day of Beijing 2008 (I remember that very ell) and was excellent, showing a vaste amount of all sports (including pretty well all major events of almost all olympic sports and some in Slovakia quite popuar non-olympic sports like Ball Hockey, futnet etc.., also huge amount of domestic sports leagues of different kind of sports) sadly the channel was removed in 2011. there some rumors they want to renew it from this year. we´ll see. So far they put the whole sport things on RTVS 2, aiming this year especially on the Ice Hockey World Championships which will be held in Slovakia. but you can always find them covering all major BIG eventslike OG/WC or WCH of Ice Hockey, Football, Biathlon, Alpine Skiing, Canoeing Slalom, Canoeing Sprint or Athletics, + they cover usually all (mainly the home) matches (and eventual SVK matches at major events) of our National Teams in different ball sports (including Tennis DC/FC, Volleyball, Water Polo, Handball or EVEN Basketball - yeah Basketball, I´m not joking) + matches of Ice Hockey National Championship, Footbal league, European cups or even Handball SEHA league are weekly always covered..that´s quite a lot, you´ll say but I still miss the real dedicated national public sport channel for other sports we still have a lot of other sport channels in our market from all available Eurosports to all Nova Sports, Digi Sport channels or Sport TV etc...1 point -

Pan American Games 2019

The tournament has had 8 teams for a few cycles now. All team sports have 8 countries. Uruguay (and Brazil) unfortunately lost out to Peru who basically got a free spot in a lot of team sports. Only rugby had the sense to not give them a free pass in the men's event. At least Peru avoided Argentina in both events, or else we could have gotten another 30-0 loss (for some reason I remember DR's loss in 2003 really well, I was young at the time and thought to myself why are they hosting an event they are so bad in?) lol.1 point -
Junior Pan American Games 2021
mrv86 reacted to RiSeGwangFan for a topic
Since last year Pan Am Sport showed interest in creating those games( I read also Pan Am Beach Games ) so I'm glad they decided to schedule them.. I read Cali will be submitted as candidate for Colombia(Well, the info is from months ago, everything changes). San Salvador will be the undisputed host city proposed by El Salvador. I think it's the opportunity of Guadalajara to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Guadalajara 2011 Pan American Games. I would like Monterrey to contend for Pan American "Senior" games. I only pray that Mexico will continue with its desire to be an alfitrion. There have been changes in our country in a couple of months and there are winds of austerity.1 point -

Well, we have the ecomony... the problem was that the past goverment didn't want to spend in hosting duties, rather they wanted to rob big. The new administration, although I'm not a fan of it, has another aproach and want to rehabilitate public spaces, including sporting venues.1 point

Suggestions for Quota reductions on the existing sport program
FancyFenchel reacted to JoshMartini007 for a topic
To be honest, we should be looking at removal of events rather than reduction of quotas. Any team event with fewer than 12 nations and any individual event with fewer than 16 entrants should either be removed or expanded. If an event's talent pool becomes too diluted than it isn't exactly worthy of competing at the Olympics. The IOC may claim it is trying to reduce costs, but athletes themselves aren't the issue. It's the venue size (and amount) requirements1 point -
first, drop the ipocracy of gender equality... then, drop entire senseless sports (artistic swimming, trampoline, rhytmic gymnastics, dressage, skateboarding, freestyle BMX, surf, rugby 7s, the current no man's baseball...and of course this weightlifting and the farce of "amateur" -or "Olympic", name it as you prefer- boxing) or some events in some senseless sports (synchronized diving, individual time trial in cycling)... after that, drop most of the places reserved to officials and IOC's guests...actually, this could be the first option... finally, I'm pretty sure that the remaining sports not only don't need quota reduction, but they also have a shot to regain their technical dignity by increasing the number of competitive starters in any event (of any sport)... frankly, I'm really tired of and annoyed by this everlasting buzz of "quota reduction"...it's time to choose an affordable number of sports to appear at the Games and let them have the best and strongest competition possible... stop making most Olympic events a "technical farce" in the name of stupid ipocracy...1 point

1. I would do option A for the top 5, and then do an open bid. 2. Option C, though I would be okay with B 3. A, because I would want participants to be registered for a specified amount of time before they can take part. And maybe this would help once the contest goes into the voting round.1 point -
Question 1: How should TISC hosting rights be awarded if the winner declines their right to host the next edition? (b) Open bid process where all interested parties can bid Question 2: If there is an open bid process, how would you rather it be conducted? (b) First time hosts and previous hosts allowed to bid, but the draw will be weighted in favour of first time hosts Question 3: Rule 7 (a) in the TISC rulebook: (b) modified so that there is still some restriction, but want changes to the terms of this restriction1 point
