  2. Last night Atlanta won the MLS final against Portland. It was live on Eurosport as MLS usually is, with a commentator who's been doing it for 20-25+ years....but last night he was either ignoring the match on purpose or he was just drunk. I watched it this morning and I have never in my life heard a commentator talk so much nonsense and so little about the match I heard him recite a poem about death, stories about Garibaldi, nickel mines in Canada, dirty clothes in the dressing room in his own time as a player, 90 minutes of anecdotes about his life in the football world and the 1-0 was only briefly mentioned..."this is the guy that has the annoying habit to score when I'm talking" and then he went on with his story about referees. The 2-0 was 100% ignored, he did not mention a single word about it. He is now fired, although it's not sure whether he was already fired and he did this out of revenge, or he got fired because of this.

  5. Only 10k traveled from Argentina. I would say a good other 30k were argentinians living in Europe. The rest spanish who had interest in the game. That extra time was incredibly dramatic! The 3 first goals were all beautiful and the last one absolutely epic with the river player running the ball into empty net with all boca supporters behind it.

  10. For Series A competitions (where there's no limit on the number of athletes that can participate) they can go on their own without approval from their federation, they only need to have a licence and pay for everything.

  16. Only 3 medals for that "big army" ! I think the number of Iranians in this tournament was good enough to invade China we had something like 10-15 athletes in repechage but only Mehdizadeh managed to win a bronze (and maybe because he had to beat two other Iranians !) I don't think athletes can participate in such event without approval from their national federations. and my question is "how the hell our federation let these unknown athletes participate under Iran's flag" ? and looks like Karate is rich people sport here I mean nowadays considering current economical situation it's no easy to pay a trip to China on your own. Poursheib and Mehdizadeh were already famous, but I didn't know this guy Yari at all and had to google him. but I think after all this tournament is not going to help our Olympic chance. Yari is not even in the national team program (yeah maybe they change that now) Mehdizadeh was terrible recently and now he is moving up a weight I don't think he stands a chance , Derafshipour is probably our best chance for Olympic quota here in this weight (he was there too but lost to Japan) and Poursheib is only the 2nd option behind Ganjzadeh. of course it's good to have someone else in the ranking in case something happens. our federations hopes for 6 quotas in Karate (which is VERY optimistic) to me 4 will be GREAT. but the most important thing is to qualify in all 3 men's kumite weights . they all can be gold medal chances in Tokyo. I believe we can't qualify more than 2 via Ranking (75kg and +75kg) the rest has to focus on the last qualifier.

  21. Plus it's reversed in how it should be: double runs in the 1/16 finals and single runs from then on, whereas in my opinion at least the semi's and finals should be double runs.

  29. Thank you. I usually have those Eurosports as well, but brother took the box with himself out of town, so left with only German ES 1 on satellite. Rest I have to find via streams. Can be frustrating as British ESs can have quite different content than what we have. Yesterday for example couldn't find the race at all. Luckily, watching now.

  32. Mexico is selected as 2019 Annual TISC host After their bid was selected yesterday as the new host 2019 Totallympics International Song Contest, Mexico is making early plans to host the prestigious music competition. Being the first country to receive the annual edition five years ago, also as a replacement of original hosts, this time around the organizing committee is better prepared to take on the task. “We have the strong duty to make 2019 TAISC edition one to remember”, explained bid CEO mrv86 “After all, two other deserving countries showed potential of being excellent hosts, so there’s a reason to do things not only right, but as spectacular as we can.” “Five years ago, we could only imagine the enormous impact this contest would have; one edition after the other, we have seen dedication of so many people in organizing a beautiful show and welcoming the World to their respective culture. In many ways, this supports our bid motto: music does not have borders of any kind.” “I personally would like to thank all the demonstrations of support received so far. It will be a pleasure to welcome you to the city of Guadalajara, and share with you our music, heritage and traditions, as I’m sure each of you will do with your song selections. Without much further to add, except the promise to deliver a show worthy of each one of you, I’d like to present once more: México” Mexico... the country you thought you knew Excerpt from Danzón No. 2 by Arturo Marquez Guadalajara, host city of 2019 Totallympics Song Contest

  34. A quick update from the Danish badminton conflict. The players meet today to discuss yesterday's statement from Badminton Denmark. After today's meeting, the players still fully support Mads Oeland as their negotiator. "I just have to confirm that the positions and the mandate of Mads Oeland are backed 100 percent by our players. He has not done one thing or put a comma for which we do not stand. Whom we choose must stand for our bill. Then you can discuss whether it's a good or bad choice. I do not want to be in the media", says Jan O. Joergensen. "It's a bit childish that they try to ask who negotiates for us. We have tried to accommodate them on some points, and we have had some constructive negotiations so far. We stand together as a group, and we stand for everything Mads Oeland and the Player Association convey further", elaborates Anders Skaarup.

  35. Update from the Danish Badminton conflict. The Board of Badminton Denmark has chosen not to continue negotiating beacuse they can't accept the leader of the Players' Association, Mads Oeland. According to Badminton Denmark the reason why they won't continue to negotiate with Mads Oeland is that they received "threats" about compensation for the missed training sessions in the Elite center. Other "threats": - Threats to open negotiations outside of Badminton Denmark with federal sponsors. - Requirements for continuation of the elite program in unchanged form, even if there is no applicable collective agreement between the parties. - Badminton Denmark does not want to negotiate a new collective national team agreement with a gun for the forehead. - The only reaction Badminton Denmark has received from the Players' Association in the last 14 days is two mails on Friday 30 November. The two mails contain, among other things, threats regarding the submission of claims for compensation due to the suspension of the elite program, and threats to open negotiations outside of Badminton Denmark with the federal sponsors, as well as requirements for continuation of the elite program in unchanged form. They say it's not a healthy way of negotiating. Badminton Denmark will try to negiotiate with the players through the Players' Council, instead of the Players' Association. This is all of course from Badminton Denmark's perspective. We haven't heard anything from Mads Oeland or the players yet.
