  10. naaa... this is the kind of "pesto" @wumo26 was referring to: https://ricette.giallozafferano.it/Pesto-di-pomodori-secchi.html meanwhile this is the typical kind of "pesto" you're mentioning (with tomato sauce added to the classic basil leaves): https://ricette.giallozafferano.it/Pesto-alla-trapanese.html

  12. I never thought the word "pesto" would be mentioned so many times on a sports forum. (Before today, "pesto" hadn't been mentioned on the forum. Now it has been 12 times .) Edit: Well 13 after this post.

  15. even Mohamed Salah isn't exempt from Military service he just postpones it as long as he's abroad , but ofc Salah isn't in any danger , people here would protest in streets if this happens

  16. that's the same in Iran. but only if that sport exists in military. wrestling doesn't. for example in Football/Volleyball/Basketball there are military related clubs in the league. but even in that case, they still have to train 2 months in "real military" before that. so Mohamed Salah has to go to military ? in Iran until a week ago it was Olympic medalists (any color). Gold and Silver medalists in World Championship and Asian Games (not the Asian Championships) gold medalists but they just changed it few days ago. and now all medalists from those 3 competitions are exempt and I just heard they added Worlds U23 into that list. (not 100% sure though but it seems so) and thanks for letting me know about the Olympic channel. it works perfectly and easily. much easier than UWW live stream. I didn't know Olympic channel is interested in Worlds U23 at least I can see the last 3 matches without freezing.

  17. the main website which hosts UWW live stream events doesn't work in Iran. I have to go through changing my IP etc and sometimes (like tonight) it just kills the whole speed and makes it super super slow. oh thanks I could watch the 2nd period. but the whole team was disaster here. one bronze more or less doesn't change that. but at least our coach (whom I like a lot personally) was very happy at the end. so I'm happy for him at least but the whole point of this competition is to produce good wrestlers for the senior team and unfortunately I can't see that potential in any of our wrestlers here. but all of 3 bronze medalists were very happy at the end. because "apparently" per new rules winning a medal at any color in a Worlds U23 will make them exempt from the military service that's quite a motive

  20. Using dried tomatoes for pesto in addition/substitution of basil is something becoming more and more popular in Italy, as long as using pistachios for it (and for many other things). however, for almost an eternity, pesto in Italy was always referred to the Genoan tradition, as @Sindo said
    1 point
  21. sure... we have so many different kind of "pesto" (which literally means "mashed", so with that word you can basically mean almost any sort of sausage made with non-cooked ingredients -mainly herbs + oil, garlic, sometimes cheese and/or fruits like almonds or walnuts and so on- mashed and mixed together)... here are some examples (there's also a red version, made with dried up tomato kept in extra virgin olive oil + almonds, pine nuts and basil)... https://ricette.giallozafferano.it/Pesto-alla-trapanese.html/related/ p.s. here in the North-West of Italy the absolutely most popular version is the "classic" one, with basil, pine nuts, cheese (parmesan rather than pecorino...there's always a dispute about it), garlic and extra virgin olive oil... all the other versions are not so used/known...

  28. non-alchoolic...definitely Mineral Water...Italy is at the top of any ranking about mineral water drinking...we have I don't know how many different brands of that... alchoolic...surely wine (especially among the not so young people)...but also beer drinking is growing day after day (especially among the yougsters)... among the other drinks, I think Coca-cola and Fanta are the best sellers... we don't have a unique product different from any other Country that's so popular in our entire territory (maybe there are some local traditional products in some places -like the coffe ice-drink in Calabria and on a lesser scale the rest of Southern Italy- but they can't be considered a national beverage)...

Apparently, only one new TISC Record was set at this edition: Highest ranking for an entry that did not receive a maximum 12-point score (Open): 4th – Great Britain (2018 Open) Additionally, Algeria's score of 107 points and 3.15 are new African Continental Records. Now all Continental Records are set over 100 points and 3.00 PPJ.

  36. what a wonderful awake! no, seriously...I have a real conflict within myself...I'd like to be proud of the increased chances of Milan, but I'm so scared of the possible outcome and consequences of that happening (waste of public money -as if we were not already famous for that...we call it "magna magna", to be pronounced as if the "gn" was a Spanish "ñ"- political fights beyond every imagination -as if we haven't had enough of them in the last 157 years- and also all of our NOC and winter sports federations funding and attention going lost from the youth activity and development of our sport causing years of miserable results after the "big event", as it happened with Torino 2006) that I just don't know what to think of all this... however, now it's clear that the Italian option is the last chance for the IOC...now they only have to put a red carpet between Milan and Lausanne, if they still realy care about the futrure of Winter Olympic Games...
