  1. Although Antarctica has not participated in TISC with an entry, progress was made earlier this year when they ceased their 4-year long boycott of TISC and accepted an invitation to be part of the TISC Jubilee celebrations as a special guest of honour. The reconciliation was hailed as a huge success after years of conflict with TISC which culminated in Antarctica setting up their own rival to TISC, named WINTERFEST, and setting out to sabotage many editions of TISC during that period. As part of the Jubilee's reconciliation process, Antarctica agreed to end their boycott of TISC and also to disband WINTERFEST. As a special tribute, let's look at Antarctica's entry in the final-ever WINTERFEST that took place earlier this year. 6. What three nations? Oh, wait. Those three nations ( ) are not starting in the gold medal match. It only means that their votes will be looked at to decide the gold medal match results. And it's those specific three nations because they are the final 3 voters.

  8. Almost Ok, because I've got nothing better to do: this Brazilian girl and me were kind of saying we were dating, even though we had never met face to face yet. Before I went to Brazil to meet her for the first time (which eventually resulted in a 3,5 year relationship) I used to watch videos of other people on YouTube going through the exact same thing (especially that insanely nervous first moment) and in my favourite one they used 'A moment like this' for the backdrop

  12. Hashemi is a two time World Champion now this is great for an average weightlifter like him. we had so many much better weightlifters had to retire with only 1 or 2 bronze or silver. happy for Beiralvand and his bronze medal. that last CJ lift was unexpected. and Sohrab Moradi at 96kg lifted 20kg more than Hashemi here

  14. unfortunately there is nothing in the rules against registering like this and withdrawing. and for "registering" you have to participate in weight-in and make weight which he did . that's all he had to do to fulfill one of those 6 qualification events.

  18. Road to TISC Open 2018 Today marks the eve of the TISC Open 2018 Opening Ceremony and, as such, we have come to the final edition of this year's "Road to TISC Open 2018" series. There are three nations left to review: Antarctica, who have a colourful history with TISC; the United States who are hosting this year's edition for the first time. But up first today, we remember the history of our most recent TISC champions - TISC Annual 2018 gold medalists, Italy! 19. basically I agree on everything... I'd be happy also with just 3+1 minute as the Kumite bouts time limits (4+1 would be better, but still)... and the best competition format to me is the one used in wrestling until last year (I don't like the idea of a competition over more than 1 day)...preliminaries and repechage in the early session and finals in the late session... moreover, having 12 individual events (10 kumite + 2 kata) in the schedule, I'd like to see 3 events per day over 4 days (1 kata and 2 kumite classes in the first 2 days and 3 kumite weights in the last 2 days, with the heavyweights always as the final class, of course)...

  20. in Top 7 yes, but the South Korean 8th placer (upgraded to 2nd) also has a clean record. maybe he wasn't just there. it's not necessary to attend a ceremony to receive your medal. they can just send it to your home. and as I asked before, no idea if Zielinksi really receives anything. funny that Ilya Ilyin himself was there in Ashgabat when they were awarding "his medal" to someone else

Although to be fair, it is completely insane XTC has such a big tabboo on it and is actually illegal. Smoking tobacco kills thousands and thousands of people a year here, alcohol kills thousands and thousands of people a year, XTC kills...7-8 people a year (in the Netherlands), yet you can get your cigarettes and alcohol in basically every supermarket, but XTC - the stuff of which the main effect is basically that you become one big happy hugging machine - is illegal. XTC is actually ranked very low in terms of danger, way under tobacco, alcohol, a ton of different kind of drugs and even weed

  23. it seems Mohammadpour wasn't the only weightlifter receiving his medal in Ashgabat, Gulnoi (THA, 2012) and Ulanov (KAZ, 2016) also received their medals. https://www.iwf.net/2018/11/08/three-lifters-awarded-olympic-medals/ interesting that they only awarded the gold medal in that weight where all 3 medalists are disqualified now. no silver and bronze ?

@heywoodu It's some "interesting" people living in the Netherlands? A 69-year-old entrepreneur in the Netherlands wants to legally change his age to 49 so he can go back to work and meet more women on Tinder, according to his lawsuit. The self-proclaimed positivity guru argued that he feels 20 years younger, and compared the age difference to being transgender, despite the concepts being completely different. "You can change your name. You can change your gender. Why not your age? Nowhere are you so discriminated against as with your age," he told De Telegraaf. Ratelband argued that he is a "young god" and said changing his age would allow him to "live differently," saying he would get more matches on Tinder if he could use a younger age. https://www.thisisinsider.com/dutch-man-emile-ratelband-wants-to-legally-change-his-age-to-49-2018-11
