  10. Yep, noticed it earlier today. Which suuuuucks because the classic FIS website was by far the best website of any sports federation in terms of easily finding results, athletes and statistics.

  11. And it’s just the clean FIS world feed too. NBC isn’t even doingn anything other than retransmitting it.

  15. Nippon Series 2018 a walk-off HR by Yuki Yanagita in the bottom of the 10th inning gave the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks the victory in a very entertaining game #5... this time we've had quite a few lead changes through the entire game and a close match until the end, but the result is the same as the last 3 matches, the Hawks win... and now they lead 3-1 (and a tie) in the Nippon Series, just 1 win away from the final triumph... the Hiroshima Toyo Carp now have their shoulders against the wall, but at least they will have their home crowd's support in the next chapters of this saga... game #6 is scheduled for Saturday in Hiroshima, always @ 6.30 p.m. Japan time (10.30 a.m. CET)... p.s. @heywoodu keep an eye on Saturday's game...there's a chance that Van den Hurk could pitch for the Hawks, even if it's more likely to see him on Sunday (if a further game is needed)...

  20. Yes and no. There isn't a specific list of qualification events yet, but the calendars for 2019 are available here. For dressage all CDI3*/4*/5* and CDI-W events will count, as well as European Championships and Pan American Games. For eventing all CCI4*/5* events will count, together with the Europeans (but not Pan Ams). For jumping all CSI3*/4*/5* and CSI-W can count, but FEI will publish as the year goes which of these events will actually count (there are certain requirements, though I don't really know much about them)..

  21. This group chat reminds me when we got a letter from a university organisation about a local dance party and a student managed to reply to the letter sent to over 200 people asking if he needs to find a girl partner himself or will he be able to find one at the dance. That sparked up a lot of replies, he was meme'd to death and everybody was crying in a Facebook group about the guy that managed to flood everybody's school e-mail with spam.

  30. The Halloween tradition of trick or treating goes way back here to Celtic times. Obviously not kids looking for candies . But for more simpler things like nuts, and fruits from the harvest. Halloween is thought to have its roots in the ancient Irish Celtic festival of Samhain. https://www.newgrange.com/samhain.htm

  38. The story is very curious. This bolivian band made the song in 1981, then a peruvian band made a cover in 1984, then an artist named Marcia Ferreira made an adaptation of the peruvian version in 1986, then finally Kaoma made their famous version in 1988. The song got progressively more upbeat with each version. The bolivian band apparently only sued the producers of the lambada version (likely because they saw the fame the song took) and it seems they won the case after many years. No idea what settlement was reached though.
