  2. It should be quite unpredictable with 6+ spots on offer in each event but I'll give it a go. Dressage - + Top 6 countries seem to be the firm favorites at the moment, however Spain will definitely look to steal a spot, mainly from the Netherlands I suspect. Portugal and Russia meanwhile could get in if a lot of things go their way. Australia shall get the Group G spot by default. Eventing - This one is already less predictable. Great Britain is likely the biggest favorite for qualification (they have ridiculous depth). Australia, Germany and New Zealand should do alright. Sweden and USA are probably the most vulnerable ones on this list. Canada, France and Ireland could be close, followed by Belgium and Italy. Canada could do very well at their home continent (already proved it in the past by taking shocking team medals both times the USA hosted eventing worlds). French selectors seemingly learned nothing from Strzegom disaster last year. Not worthy of Olympic champions, I can see them getting elmiinated again. Ireland probably has their best team in years on the other hand. Belgium/Italy are more on the mediocre side. I suspect at least one surprise qualifier should get in thanks to avoiding major XC penalties. Jumping - I'm quite confident for Belgium, Ireland, Netherlands and USA. Germany and Sweden not so much. Italy and Switzerland could be very close to taking a spot as well. Brazil (not consistent enough), Canada (lacking big names), France (a lot of unfamiliar names), Great Britain (inexperienced), Spain (inconsistent) will be looking for spoilers. And finally, I can also see Mexico, Egypt, New Zealand or even Israel creating a major surprise.

  4. Yes his first name is Albein .He's following Deborah Harold India's first cyclist to be ranked in top 10 of senior world rankings -highest of 4 in 500m women's time trial, also from Andaman and Nicobar Islands... Even her name is like Deborah Deborah in UCI.. And she is a hero of the island known not just for her international medals but also for the miraculous fighting spirit in life... She survived the tsunami by staying on a tree and eating leaves for 1 week... And the island don't even get 1/100 th of national budget. And any medal from the island I believe is like a medal from those like Nauru, Samoa or smaller islands like Wallis and Futuna whose funding is very less and comparable to Andaman and Nicobar Islands.. I just hope the funding could increase after this result.... There is potential but nothing can be done without money...

  6. Only dressage should be offering group spot at 2018 WEG, one for group G that is for Australia if it doesn’t stay in first six teams and one for F, but no African teams are taking part in dressage team event

  7. Entries are finally in! Overview of the Olympic disciplines... Dressage Team - Individuals only - Eventing Team - Individuals only - Jumping Team - Individuals only - As expected, entries are smaller compared to the previous games in 2014, since many nations don't fancy flying over to North Carolina. Also quite a few nations that usually send teams now only have an individual or two (Austria ). Quite interesting to see Bolivia entering two riders in jumping. Also Lebanon and Macedonia (possibly all of them making WEG debuts).

    Asian Games 2018

Strange discovery today on the Asian games website. For days, the site has been showing match timings off by half an hour for me - so a match scheduled for 10 am INA time is shown at 10.30 am !! What's worse - sometimes the time is half an hour ahead & sometimes half an hour behind BUT...if I change the time zone on the computer from Indian time zone of GMT + 5.30 to say Bangladesh time zone of GMT + 6, then the site starts showing the correct timings !! It still shows INA standard time, but at least it is correct... So the site basically can't handle a time zone of the form GMT+5.30 (India) or GMT+5.45 (Nepal) - but it can handle hourly time zones like GMT+1, GMT+2 etc...so only few countries like India, Iran, Afghanistan and Nepal face the weird issue - no issue for others.. Unfortunately, that would also mean that the issue is highly unlikely to be fixed - as faced by only few countries. So the only for us poor Indian or Iranian folk is to actually change the time zones on our computers in order to be able to follow with some sanity (After changing the time zone, I changed the time itself again by half an hour so my computer keeps showing the correct Indian time)...
