trust me, I've been living all my life dreaming of a strong and serious Milan Summer Games bid...but now I'm old and experienced enough to know that it will never happen... so, with my heart bleeding, I'm against all of this farce represented by these bids Italy has presented in the last years (and luckily gone missing for one reason or another, despite I really hate the people who killed that Olympic bids for other reasons, since they've done so many damages to the "normal" people living in this Country -and Mayor Virginia Raggi to those living in Rome in particular)... as one of the biggest Olympic fans in this Country, I think the best chance for our Nation is to save money from this kind of events and enjoy the Games organized by other Countries that can easily make a good job for Sport and for the Olympic Games ideal... p.s. good luck to Paris and France...I'm pretty sure that the 2024 Games will be wonderful...

3x3 ranking... strange ranking, with Andorra and Mongolia very High. Uhmm Andorra and Mongolia.. not so strong. Then... on what is based 3x3 ranking? Wait. I don' belive. It is based on individual ranking. Why? Ok, not by international tournament. But individual ranking? Incredible. From FIBA site: "The 3x3 Federation Ranking not only rewards the elite performances of the players but also the 3x3 activity in the territory of each National Federation. The position in the 3x3 Federation Ranking is driven by the number of players and their playing frequency. The more events are organised the more likely players will accumulate points and increase the national federation's standing in the 3x3 Federation Ranking". So, doesn't matter if players are strong, are good player. No. For a good ranking is necessary to organize many national events, so player can accumulate their points. Ok, my italian friends, let's organize some 3x3 torunaments!!! The worst sport thing i ever seen.

it's more complicated than that... basically, our NOC (after the IOC gave them permission to do it) has approved a tri-city bid (Milano, Torino, Cortina)... but now Milan, that thought (with all the reason, I'd say) they would be the real candidate town (with only some events hosted by the other bidders, Torino and Cortina), has decided to opt out from the possible governance of the final bid (in practice, no Milan officials nor politicians will be in the "Local Organizing Committee" of the Games), giving in any case the OK to our NOC to be included among the Olympic Venues (it's still unclear if they want the name of the city included in the official bid -it's still supposed that the Opening Ceremony will be in San Siro Stadium, so it would be really strange if the name "Milano" won't be included- or not)... however, this not a sport bid anymore...it's just a political compromise that has nothing to do with sport, but only with our worst habit, the systematic spoil system of all our public institutons by the governing political parties... and technically it's just something unacceptable (a few proposed venues are just a joke)...

Yes in all sports. winning the Gold medal in Asian Games or winning a medal of any color in the Olympics + winning gold or silver in World Championships will allow them to skip the military service. I believe that World Championship part only applies to Olympic sports. so only AG, Olympics and the World Championship count and in this case in Jakarta only gold medalists will have that privilege . but this mostly helps younger athletes. because when you are 26-27 or older you already had to deal with the military service. last time in Incheon Iran won 21 gold medals by 32 athletes (20 individual + 12 volleyball team member) but only 3 of 4 of them used the rule. for the rest that was already late.

3x3 basketball has an interesting quota place dedicated for universality. Only nations who haven't participated in basketball at the last two Olympics are eligible. Therefore, will all be excluded...
