  1. The Italian delegation by sport can be found here: http://www.tarragona2018.coni.it/it/discipline.html There are 27 Olympic medallists: Basile and Giuffrida (judo), Galiazzo (archery), J. Rossi and Pellielo (shooting), Paltrinieri (swimming), Longo Borghini (cycling), Pizzo (fencing), Chamizo (wrestling), Battisti and Venier (rowing) and a lot of water polo players, both men and women, who were at Rio 2016. It looks like a very serious delegation. There's also a detailed calendar (in Italian) by date and sport: http://www.tarragona2018.coni.it/it/programma-gare.html (I have no idea where to find a detailed calendar on the official site of the Games)

  2. Very happy for my second silver medal in a row and happier that I still first in the general standing (thanks to @Dunadan's absence) Great job @Wanderer (keep the pace with the results and the schedule it's quite demanding) and congrats to @dcro About the tennis contest I already told my opinion and I have been the only one to speak so I think that this should be the only tennis contest for this year.

  8. Portuguese delegation: 233 athletes http://comiteolimpicoportugal.pt/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Tarragona2018.pdf Some sports are in good force with the best competing: Canoe, Judo, Triathlon, Swimming, Shooting, taekwondo Some are with 2nd and 3rd line athletes: cycling, table tennis, tennis, golf, Sailing... Some are a mix: Athletics is a good example... Some major major gaps: no one competing in the half marathon? where we had the women European gold and bronze in the last European championships? There are some good athletes but no real major ones, exception to Patrícia Mamona that is the European champion in Triple Jump, 6th in the Olympics, but she just comes from surgery so who knows... Best medal hypothesis in terms of sports will be by this order: Judo, Canoe, Taekwondo, Triathlon, and Shooting I think.

  12. It's a bit surprising that many countries like or even don't have a proper idea of their youth athletes. May be as things get more clear within a month with all qualifiers we could expect Joshmaartini007 to predict a medal tally for the games

  16. I think that only all-around is competed. Probably we'll have Baldassari with gold, Agiurgiuculese with silver and Aleksandra Podgorsek (Slovenia) with the bronze medal. Not sure if Axelle Jovenin (France) or Polina Berezina (Spain) have the nerve (and the talent) to challenge for a medal, but we will see.

Actually Claudia's story is "interesting" She's a basket player turned athlete actually. She played with Spain in an U17 World Championships before because she has double nacionality, but because she played with Andorra in the 2011 Eurobasket C U16, she's only eligable to the Spanish rooster as the "nacionalizated" spot, Because of Spain also having Astou Ndour at the same age, she wasn't going to international competitions so she switched to Andorra again. So she's a pretty decent level basketball player actually

  21. The problem is that ITF, WTA, WADA and other NOCs are accomplices of this shame! It's unbeliveble that the only NOCs that appeals against a absurd 2 months ban is Italy... I hope that all other NOCs will do it in future

  34. Here are my predictions based off of 2017 results. Note, not all events had world championships/equivalents, biggest being women's boxing and equestrian. Weightlifting has been adjusted due to many nations missing out (though the nations missing out aren't compensated). Also nations with only one medal chance have been rounded down to 0 and I have not excluded any athletes which have retired. United States - 102 Russia - 61 China - 60 Great Britain - 46 France - 44 Japan - 43 Germany - 37 Australia - 30 Italy - 29 Canada - 26 Netherlands - 26 Poland - 24 South Korea - 22 Hungary - 21 Spain - 21 Ukraine - 18 Brazil - 16 New Zealand - 15 Belarus - 12 Czech Republic - 12 Turkey - 12 Cuba - 11 Switzerland - 10 Denmark - 9 Iran - 9 Kenya - 9 Serbia - 9 Sweden - 9 Colombia - 8 Georgia - 8 Mexico - 8 Azerbaijan - 7 Belgium - 7 Croatia - 7 Jamaica - 7 Uzbekistan - 7 Ethiopia - 6 India - 6 Kazakhstan - 6 Lithuania - 6 Mongolia - 6 Chinese Taipei - 6 Greece - 5 Norway - 5 Romania - 5 Slovakia - 5 Slovenia - 5 South Africa - 5 Thailand - 5 Austria - 4 Bulgaria - 4 Portugal - 4 Bahrain - 3 Dominican Republic - 3 Egypt - 3 Estonia - 3 Hong Kong - 3 Israel - 3 Morocco - 3 North Korea - 3 Trinidad and Tobago - 3 Venezuela - 3 Argentina - 2 Armenia - 2 Bahamas - 2 Botswana - 2 Chile - 2 Ecuador - 2 Finland - 2 Indonesia - 2 Ireland - 2 Latvia - 2 Malaysia - 2 Qatar - 2 Singapore - 2 Tunisia - 2 Vietnam - 2 Albania - 1 Cote d'Ivoire - 1 Cyprus - 1 Eritrea - 1 Fiji - 1 Guatemala - 1 Kyrgyzstan - 1 Moldova - 1 Montenegro - 1 Nigeria - 1 Puerto Rico - 1 Tajikistan - 1 Turkmenistan - 1 Zambia - 1
