A bit more about Van Wijk: she spent a larger part of her childhood in hospitals than at school, as a matter of speech. Born with a rare growth syndrome, she's had scoliosis and kidney cancer, problems with an assymetric body and lots of bullying. Also tried basketball due to her length, but she kept breaking bones, so that didn't work. To think she's still only 20 years old..

Time to add the 400 meters in the slow/alternative strokes, that'd bring Corbeau gold for sure and finally give a chance to those who specialize in the slower strokes but need more time to get going, they're treated unfairly now
