He died after being captured by the police. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-62829432 Gotta love the Canadian parole system, 59 prior convictions and he got released on parole since he was supposed to be no threat to society? Canada's parole board said on Tuesday that it would review why he had been released early from prison while serving a four-year sentence for several violent crimes. Don't worry, a five year long public enquiry will be held, and strict instructions to improve record-keeping & inter-agency cooperation will be issued!
