Finally had a chance to watch the ceremony in full. I quite enjoyed it. I thought the tone fit the event well, and there was a uniquely British/English feel to it. It was definitely the best ceremony of this cycle so far.

I watched a bit of it on Astro Arena and decided to sleep (it was 2.30 AM) thinking that everything will be replayable the next day

Honestly there is quite an impressive broadcasting coverage by the BBC. Out of all of these sports, only Table Tennis doesn't have a dedicated stream.

What an embarrassment, having to outsource to a nation with a population of ~35000 like Canada can't afford it.

 

Netball is almost worse because we literally have venues that can host it. All they need to do is convert any ice hockey arena to netball. They do it for basketball all the time and the court dimensions are quite similar.

Shooting was never part or or program, so no big loss at outsourcing. Netball ofc has 0 tradition in Canada and it makes sense as the other sport to go. I think it's more so of an idea that they are running away with here, even though it's ridiculous imo.

Netball must be an ultimate pariah of the basketball genre? I mean 3x3 basketball has gained more following in like the last 10 years because it better resembles the old fashioned street/park games with only one basket. I still don't understand this hoopla about netball in Australia & New Zealand?

Only 18 sports and no one critisize that because the host is england
