If live versions weren't counted, then it'd be a toss up between Fences, Ain't It Fun, Where The Lines Overlap, Future, Ignorance, The News, Decode and Looking Up. There so many good Paramore songs, particularly the older ones, that it's too hard to chose a top 20, nevermind top 10 or 5. The list I just comprised there was very much on the fly, I probably missed out a ton more songs that I like even more than the ones listed.   

 

I don't mind the odd couple slow or toned down songs, but I'd just like to see a lot more heavy/heavier rock from them. We've seen glimpses of them starting to go back that way in this album, but they haven't fully committed. Maybe once they get away from Atlantic Records (I believe this is the last album they're contractually obligated to do with them after Atlantic purchased Fuled By Ramen) they can start going back to their old ways.  

 

"For A Pessimist I'm Pretty Optimistic" is one of the best records on that album. 

 

I'm not entirely sure though that Paramore will be releasing that many more albums, they've been going at it since 2005. Many dramas, Hayley's somewhat unsuccessful solo attempt, if they don't stop after the record deal, I think they have 1 or 2 albums max in them, but I wouldn't be surprised if the deal is the last thing that's keeping them together. After Laughter was in 2017, the length of this break is Adele territory

It's a brilliant and fitting opening track to Riot. 

 

I think we can see another 3-4 albums from them, where old age could catch up to them. The group seems its strongest right now, with Hayley and Taylor now in a relationship and Zac being committed to the band. They'll probably create their own record company and distribute through that, they seem to have the resources to do so. This Is Why is looking good to reach number 1 in the UK album charts, so there's clearly still a lot of fanfare around them which should push them to continue creating music.

After a long delibration inside the Danish jury and a historical close result between two songs, the Danish selection for TAISC 2023 has been found. 

 

For the second time in TISC-history, the Danish indie-band, Blaue Blume, will have the honor to represent Denmark in TISC. The Danish trio have been relatively quiet in the last couple of years, but in 2022 they released a new single, "Country", which has already caught the attention of many radio stations and has gained attention among many listeners. 

 

Singer and frontman of Blaue Blume, Jonas Smith, has explained the meaning behind, "Country":

»Hopefully everyone can relate to the idea of wanting to pull the plug, after a night out on the town, for instance. Having an urge to leave and finding it hard to relax in an apartment on the 3rd floor. In that way, our new song certainly flirts with the romantic idea of a life on the countryside, but beneath the surface, ‘Country’ is about finding that space within yourself first and foremost. That “country” is where you are as a person right now. And that you allow yourself to be in that place and dwell on that state of mind.«

Hello Totallympics! It's a pleasure to be once again part of the Annual International Song Contest, this time travelling to Seville, once the main link city between Spain and Mexico. I'm proud to announce this year we had our first official festival to pick the Mexican entry for this edition (with the complete set available for your consideration after national juries have sent their votes).

 

 

Just like last year, Mexico will be present with a collaboration between Los Rumberos, a duet formed in 2013 by Lito de la Isla & Paul Sefchovich, and have brought back the traditional Cuban rumba and son styles, combined with folk Mexican and pop rock sounds, pleasantly fused with the urban style of Sabino, a "soft" hip hop artist that made his debut in 2012, whom now present a song in which a man is seeking the advice of his close friends about dumping and getting back with an ungrateful lover.

I really liked that song too. In fact, it was one of the options I had in mind for the Open edition. Belinda had several hits in the 2000s and early 2010s but I had lost track of her until the collab with Ana Mena.
