@hckosice Sweden isn’t using their PC2018 jerseys. I think your federation choose to wear them (or the NOC demanded it).

Actually, it looks that it became the jerseys of our Women´s National Teams...The W U18 used them also during this years U18 WCH..

well, until the mens will not have to wear them I may be fine with that, I gues...

It was fun while it lasted @hckosice

well, the girls are in majority 14 years old + some 15. Sweden´s roster is 15 + 16. That´s quite a huge difference in the youth categories in this sport already among the boys, so to say for the girls

Almost a miracle. Unfortunately, I don’t see Slovakia moving on after that defeat :(

Interesting quite from the one and only Kelly Sildaru: “I think the Youth Olympics is a bigger event [than the world championships] and everything is organised a bit better,” she said. “It is maybe more important, or maybe it is just different. But it is big, for sure. Getting a medal here would rank just the same as the world championship. And the world champs are a really big event.”

After a yesterday´s "rest day" for our delegation, today our athletes were back on the games,

Majerc%CC%8Ca%CC%81k%20a%20Varga%20po%20

and we started with a great 5th place of our Luge men´s doubles Vratislav Varga - Metód Majerčák,

they were even attacking the podium, being 4th after the first run.

at the end of the day they finished in a amazing 5th position. repeating and equaling the performance of the pair Vaverčák/Zmij in Lillehammer 4 years ago.

Later in the day started also the campaign for our U16 Women´s Ice Hockey team, and the opening game almost ended by a huge upset.

the Girls after a very brave fight lost to the 1 year old team of Gold medal top contender and reigning YOG champions from Sweden

only after the Penalty Shoot-Out, earning a very nice 1 point to the standing (first ever point Slovakia earned against Sweden any category involded in Women´s Ice Hockey)

This lose also means that If the girls want to advance to the medal round, they will have now to beat Germany on Sunday.

Congrats Girls for todays effort and fighting, impressive and pleasant team spirit !

Very interesting first day of Women’s Ice Hockey. Both of the pre-tournament favorites taken to a shootout by generally weaker opponents. Sweden saves themselves, while the Czechs put some pressure on their next game. I think the Czechs should easily defeat Japan, but this already becoming an entertaining tournament.
