MCMXC 15 Posted August 12, 2022 #51 Share Posted August 12, 2022 A Bizarre time trial swim off for NDOYE as the timing boards didn't work, has made him now qualify for the Final in the 200m Back

From Rome 2009 to Rome 2022. looking at his recent (and less recent) outings, I think tomorrow he won't swim as fast as today (surely he's going to win with big margin, however)... the key is make him swim the first 50m too fast...the problem is that neither Miressi nor Grousset are that kind of swimmers...among the medal contenders, the only one who could try a kamikaze start is Milak, but he might choose not to do it in order not to put at risk a possible medal against the Italian and the French guys... Edit: I got excited and forgot Italy exists. They probably have more than 3 gold. Still proud of Steenbergen! I was worried for a moment after Korstanje and Kamminga had disappointing individual finals. we're at 5 right now... waiting for a couple more tomorrow... Werloc 3,125 Posted August 12, 2022 #55 Share Posted August 12, 2022 What a brilliant start to the championships for Lithuania Andrius Šidlauskas had a very strong early career, but then faded a bit during the last 4 years. Very glad to see him with his first medal in senior competition and hopefully this motivates him to new heights. Very happy to see that Meilutytė and Teterevkova look on form as well, so the final question mark is how will Rapšys look in these championships. rafalgorka
Topicmaster1010 2,182 Posted August 13, 2022 #56 Share Posted August 13, 2022 Wow, what a swim from Popovici! Hopefully there's a Popovici vs. Dressel vs. Chalmers showdown sometime in the future. That'll be incredible to watch. maestro

You'd have to think it will happen in Fukuoka next year along with the Titmus vs Ledecky vs McIntosh showdown in the 400. Gave me false hope that our 17 yo Apostolos Siskos made the final, but instead he finished 9th since Ndoye got back in maestro
