Pretty solid day for Lithuania all around.

All three 100m runners through to the semifinal, Adas Dambrauskas 10.69 broke the Lithuanian u18 NR. Vasiliauskas ran in 10.67, but with too much wind assistance. Still, their battle for the record has been going on for two years now.

Good fight from Viltė Stašaitytė to qualify to the high jump final with a PB performance of 1.77. Quite a few athletes that were better than her on paper messed up and didn't qualify.

Solid performance from Aurėja Beniušytė, one cm away from her PB, safely into the triple jump final.

Matas Baziliauskas - javelin throw and Ieva Nikiforovaitė - shot put were the real underperformers for our team on day 1. Both had good enough PBs to qualify to the final, but threw very far away from their best.

Well that's a fucking disaster.

Our only medal chance here went XXX at 3.80, when she cleared 4.10 like 10 days ago............

That means that the best that Lithuania can offer in these championships is a top 10 now.

This event has all the writing to be unusually successful for Croatia.

Part one of the science fiction saga is about to be published this evening. With 800 m to come, our girl Jana Košćak is leading the heptathlon by a mere margin of almost 300 points. :jawdrop: To say that we have always been a non-factor in combined events would be an understatement of the century.

Also a prospect in the Men’s 100m!
