Fly_like_a_don 866 Posted July 21, 2022 Author #11 Share Posted July 21, 2022 Good only from national level. Need to cut down 3-4s in 50m, 6-8s in 100m and 10-12s in 200m events to be in top 50 of the world. Infact in 200m breastroke 15-17s need to be shelved. Can't see it happening. She lost the entire last year or else she would be 2-3 seconds faster. She has improved a lot from last year Nationals. Prashanth 157 Posted July 24, 2022 #14 Share Posted July 24, 2022 Apeksha has host of events this year she has Jr World Championships next month and then the Senior Nationals. Hope by then she has taken off another 1-2 seconds at least and by next Asian games another 2 seconds. If she is in good shape surely 2-3 NR would be broken in Jr World Championships, she was all alone in Jr Nationals. Why this cry because its never been 5 Indian best timings or NR in one single junior meet by an athlete. Tokyo - 2020 Go India Go

Then we hear 17-18 year old winning world championships or finishing top 30.

Not enough data. But, our NRs are so bad that if a decent athlete comes, they can rewrite our NR multiple times and shave off a lot of time. For example, look at how much time Lalita Babar and Avinash Sable have lost in 3000m SC.

More than being happy at the performance it's dissapointing to see the level of Indian Swimming.

At the given position she should get the nod for the single women quota after she takes part in World Championships. She is the best women swimmer at the moment. I surely feel she will take at least 3 sec in 100 breaststroke in 2 years. Tokyo - 2020 Go India Go
